• Mentor on testing practices, tools, and concepts, participate in refactoring, and support the QA team in building complex, automated test scenarios; • Oversee project roll-out processes, identify and resolve issues, and in critical situations take the lead in guiding the team; • Identify security vulnerabilities arising from the development process (or otherwise), support their remediation, and produce documentation mapping the identified issues; • Have strong knowledge of architectural models and practices and, when necessary, support the architecture team in validating and designing solutions; • Maintain a holistic view of the project and assist the team in breaking down tasks and clarifying requirements to improve delivery efficiency; • Monitor and analyze the team's metrics, suggest changes to planning processes, and support alignment activities; • Document and demonstrate solutions by producing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code; • Ensure that the solution being developed meets client needs and applies industry best practices.

Job Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge in systems development;
  • Front-end and back-end patterns and best practices;
  • Web security and performance practices;
  • Experience developing microservices using Java Spring Boot and Node.js; familiarity with React, Angular, GraphQL, Flutter, Python, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Maven, and message queues (JMS, ActiveMQ, or Kafka);
  • Advanced experience in front-end development with React and Angular; experience with Node.js, Flutter, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker;
  • Design patterns;
  • Unit testing with JUnit, log monitoring with DataDog, and Git proficiency;
  • Databases: Oracle, SQL, MySQL, and Amazon Aurora;
  • Experience using Redis for caching; knowledge of SOLID principles, Clean Code, and Scrum.

The Fraud Strategy and Analytics team is responsible for analyzing, developing and optimizing Affirm's online fraud decisioning strategy. Full stack analyst works with the Product teams to develop new fraud features, with the engineering team to launch online experiment to test out the performance of the new features, with the Operation team to execute risk and resolution strategies, with the Finance team to help facilitate discussions on portfolio performance and loss forecasting. What You’ll Do - Proactively explore data and identify opportunities to help accelerate product development or improve existing products in Trust and Safety. - Drive the analytical work of online experiments to optimize existing strategies for better conversion rates. - Translate analysis and trends into recommendations for business logic to improve identity and fraud conversion rates or fraud rates. - Develop scalable frameworks to manage tiered cutoffs for proprietary fraud machine learning models. - Evaluate innovative data sources to solve fraud risk and partner with the data engineering team to develop and maintain data pipelines for core datasets. - Own end-to-end analytics workflow, including defining success and performance metrics, socializing them across the organization, and creating actionable dashboards and reports. - Partner with Machine Learning on building fraud and identity verification strategies for new products, markets, and user segments. - Partner closely with Product and Engineering to identify highest impact points in the funnel to drive user acquisition and retention. Qualifications - 2-4 years work experience in customer risk management at a payments or financial company. - Fluent in SQL and Python. - A team player with ability to collaborate and influence across different teams in the organization. - Ability to clearly communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Passion to understand how the product works and how to change to make it more effective. - Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. - Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be responsive and available during high intensity moments. - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitatively rigorous discipline like engineering, statistics, math, or economics desired. - Knowledge of the fundamentals of payment processing and an understanding of industry risk trends, including familiarity with risk strategy development.
