Engineering Manager, Building Generation
HigharcRadically simplifying the way we design, build and shop for homes.
Role Description Higharc is hiring an Engineering Manager with a strong computational geometry and CAD background to lead one of our two Building Generation (BDG) teams — the engineers who own the generative model of the home and the platform we're building around it. The role reports to the Director of Engineering and will build out our first team in Europe. The BDG platform is the generative model at the core of Higharc — a parametric system that takes architectural intent and produces fully-resolved 2D and 3D buildable geometry, feeding design, documentation, estimation, and manufacturing. You'll lead planning and delivery across the model, the geometry pipeline, and the APIs we're building around it so the rest of Higharc (and eventually external partners) can build on top. Expect to: - Lead planning and delivery across the generative model, geometry pipeline, and BDG APIs. - Build out the European BDG team — attract strong computational geometry engineers in the region and grow the team sustainably. - Partner with PMs early to scope PRDs, surface constraints, and assess feasibility before engineer owners take over delivery. - Evaluate technical proposals from your team and route them forward — to the Director of Engineering when scoped to your team, or to the ARC when they cut across squads. - Coordinate with the other BDG EM to keep technical direction, interfaces, and the platform coherent across both teams. - Shape a clean contract between the building model and Higharc Studio's interaction and rendering systems as its API surface matures. - Run an async-first, minimal-meeting team with clear ownership and high accountability. Qualifications - 5+ years in software engineering with significant time in CAD/CAM or computational geometry, and 2+ years managing technically deep engineering teams. - Deep background in computational geometry (boolean operations, mesh processing, BReps, constraint solving, or related areas). - Strong expertise in parametric and generative modeling of 2D and 3D geometries — feature-based modeling, history graphs, dependency propagation, and keeping parametric systems robust at scale. - Experience with platform development and API design for multiple internal (and ideally external) consumers, with attention to versioning, performance, and developer experience. - Familiarity with geometry kernels — commercial, open-source, or custom-built — and comfort with the trade-offs. - Fluency in AI-supported software development practices and active use of them in your engineering workflow. - A delivery track record in a fast-paced, distributed environment. - Based in a European timezone. Benefits - Flexible hours to do your best work without missing out on life. - Competitive salaries with significant equity, in a fast-growing, well-funded company. - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage. - Unlimited PTO and meaningful maternity/paternity leave for all U.S based full-time employees. - Access to short and long-term disability plans and a 401K. - Stipend to create the ideal home office for remote work.
• Own delivery and quality of CPU bootloader firmware across NVIDIA’s data center CPU platforms, from architecture through production release. • Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of firmware engineers focused on ARM bootloader, secure boot, and early system bring-up. • Partner closely with NVIDIA’s CPU architecture team, contributing firmware perspective on hardware design and helping shape the next generation of silicon. • Lead high-stakes technical reviews and drive rapid issue resolution across the hardware-software boundary, partnering with key stakeholders to accelerate time-to-market and ensure the delivery of production-ready solutions. • Foster modern engineering practices: thoughtful code review, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing on emulation and silicon, and shared root-cause analysis. • Build an AI-forward engineering culture by adopting AI coding assistants and LLM-based tools to improve team velocity and code quality. • Support an async-first way of working that helps a geographically distributed team collaborate clearly across time zones. • Plan and complete silicon tape-out and product launch milestones, sharing risks and status with senior leadership.
