Job Description

Principal Consultant

Open Text UK Limited

Role Description As part of OpenText’s AI‑first strategy, we are forming a Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team to harness the power of our legacy data mastery with the next generation of Agentic AI. In this role, you will embed directly with our most strategic global customers to architect agentic tools that solve problems at scale, leveraging the immense data management advantage we have at OpenText. You will be responsible for deploying and bedding‑in production POCs that generate business value, case studies, and establish a new baseline for automation success. - Embedding: Discovery and Problem Framing - Leverage OpenText’s extensive customer knowledge repositories to understand how customers operate, transact, and support their business. - A key differentiator is that we do not need to learn off the backs of our customers; we already have the data, understand the problems, and can swiftly move into use‑case validation with customer SMEs. - Strong data science skills are required to extract insights from customer data and demonstrate our mastery of their business. - Prototyping & Impact Evaluation - Build and ship production‑grade AI agents that leverage OpenText’s proprietary data and tools. - Iteration at Speed - Move from problem statement to functional PoC in weeks, not months, then deploy to production in a limited release for rapid improvement cycles. - Maintain close communication with Product/Engineering teams for platform enhancements. - Championing Success - Bring success stories back from the field to the rest of OpenText. - Your impact will be significant in informing product teams, refining GTM messaging and collateral, or enabling sellers. Qualifications - Proficiency in Python, SQL, and at least one additional language (Java, Go, or TypeScript). - Experience with large‑scale data processing technologies (Spark, Kafka) and understanding of storage architecture trade‑offs. - Hands‑on experience with LLMs, agent creation (especially multi‑agent frameworks), prompt engineering, and vector databases. LangGraph/LangChain are essential. - Field experience deploying multiple systems into production for household‑name brands. - Ability to explain complex technical architectures to C‑level executives and then pivot to debugging code with a customer engineering team. Requirements - Travel to customers will be essential. Estimate 25% travel. Benefits - OpenText is committed to building an inclusive work environment. - Our Employment Equity and Diversity Policy provides direction on maintaining a working environment that is inclusive of everyone.
