• Leads projects from conception through close-out, ensuring detailed planning and execution, risk management, communication and stakeholder management, scope and cost control • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations and/or data requires a review of a variety of factors • Navigates ambiguity and has a system and process solution mindset to support growth and continuous improvement • Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues • Contacts are both internal to the company and external with client/vendor on routine matters • Builds productive internal/external working relationships • Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments • Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action • Create and manage project timelines, budgets and revenue goals, forecasting, resource plans, while comparing to contracted project scope(s), fully exploring new ideas that optimise quality and efficiency • Maintain detailed daily coordination and supervision of scheduled activities, delegating responsibilities to carry out contracted work activities, as appropriate • As the face of the company and key partner to clients and collaborators, effectively lead implementation of new and ongoing studies • Coordinate the development and implementation of new projects • Create, track, and report on project timelines • Communicate with clients and collaborators with regards to data management, inventory control, shipping procedures, etc. for all assigned areas • Respond in a timely manner to all events • Coordinate data gathering • Prepare and present project information at internal and external meetings; prepare reports and correspondences to clients, collaborators, and vendors • Meet all revenue objectives assigned to projects, project expenses, and client billing. Evaluate contract/project budgets monthly and report unexpected variances to department director • Create/track/report relevant metrics for business and project measurement • Identify out of scope project work; escalate findings and action plans to appropriate parties • Manage all tasks in an efficient and timely manner, ensuring client expectations are met and are delighted • Review, update, and evolve all documentation associated with project(s) to approvable status • Assess and mitigate technical, project, and business risks • Ensure that work product complies with design and performance standards, regulatory environment and client expectations. Enforce standards applicable to each step in project execution • Identify, resolve, and assist in resolution of operational issues • Monitors assignments and adjusts priorities and work schedule to meet deadlines and provide high quality deliverables. Completes additional tasks needed in support of project, client and departmental objectives • Complete other responsibilities, as assigned
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a life science or related field (e.g. engineering)
- Must have experience working as a Project Manager for Central Laboratories either for a CRO, Pharmaceutical or Biotech company.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office/MS 365 applications
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills; exceptional emotional intelligence
- Strong understanding of project management and data analysis
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional research and reporting skills
- Exceptional use of judgement and discretion
- Able to read, write, and fluently speak and comprehend the English language
- Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally, including overnight stays (~10-25%)

• The Start Up Project Manager is responsible for defining, developing and delivering the global start up project strategy by partnering with roles across GSSO, CD&O, Global Regulatory Submissions and others as required. • The SUPM will be assigned to one or more interventional studies in one or more therapy areas such as oncology, vaccines, internal medicine, rare disease or inflammation and immunology. • The SUPM will have a comprehensive knowledge of managing and coordinating study start up activities globally. • The SUPM will typically take full responsibility for medium to large size studies across all regions and countries, or for selected countries or region(s) of a global study where another SUPM is responsible for the site activations of the entire study. • The SUPM will work with country level start up roles to seek opportunities to accelerate site activations for their study. • Lead start up meetings that facilitate alignment of site selection to activation activities performed by country level start up roles with the endorsed trial optimization plan (by senior leadership). • Accountable for quality and completeness of start up timeline plans at study, country and site level within an enterprise project management (EPM) system. • Responsible for creating and overseeing the initial baseline and subsequent snapshots of timeline planning within the EPM system which build the overall targets for site activation over time in alignment with the priority of the study in the overall portfolio and overall expectation to deliver to plan with a high degree of probability. • Expertly integrate the requirements of a protocol amendment(s) to deliver site activations to plan prioritizing optimizing participant recruitment. • Responsible for the completeness and quality of site activation timeline plans for every site from investigator initiation package sent for first site in study to site activation complete for last site in study.
