• Work as a member of the DBA team, primarily partnering with the Application Development teams to provide guidance, troubleshooting and optimization for in-house applications • Perform DBA Duties such as responding to requests for database support, monitoring database availability, performing backups, managing user access, participating in failover testing, and other normal activity • Document the database environment using industry standard diagramming techniques showing application/database dependencies. Additionally, you will be creating a data dictionary and documenting data mappings between disparate data sources • Perform DDL and application code reviews for functionality related to a database • Understand programming language (python, java, similar) and make informed design suggestions for efficient and logical use of the data and of database resources • Provide high-end technical DBA support within a variety of Operating Environments (OE) while also supporting/assisting software development and operational teams with database definition, structure, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and security/integrity controls according to industry best practices • Help Design and implement a new Database dependent application, planning for minimal migration downtime and resiliency • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across database and application tiers • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution • Work closely with L1/L2/L3 support teams to proactively identify and resolve issues • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on Oracle database administration experience in a mission critical 24x7 environment
  • Software development experience with Java, React, Typescript, Python Node, Go, or similar
  • Experience with full database lifecycle management: upgrades, patching, cloning, backups, and recovery
  • Experience creating and maintaining enterprise data dictionary
  • Experience with ETL processes
  • Understanding of Unix operating systems
  • Nice to Have
  • Experience with automated database deployment using Jenkins, Ansible, or similar tools
  • MySQL database administration experience
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with an understanding of ITIL
  • Experience managing Oracle EBS environments including installation, patching, cloning, and performance tuning
  • 4+ years of AWS experience designing and supporting hyper-scale mission critical database architecture
  • 2+ years proficiency in writing, profiling, and optimizing SQL queries for performance
  • 2+ years experience creating and maintaining Entity Relationship Diagrams
  • Understanding of data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, modeling, and profiling
  • Strong understanding of Java, AWS Lambda, and development frameworks
