Role Description TSPi is seeking a mid-career professional in Data Analytics with a background in data used in the U.S. in social science and public health. The successful candidate will contribute data analysis, data cleaning, and analytical code working as part of multiple small teams. Projects will include data-intensive federal government projects focused on public behavioral health and healthcare research. - Apply knowledge in modern data management and analytical technologies to manage, visualize, and analyze data from a variety of federal datasets, including unstructured and qualitative/text datasets. - Support the stewardship and analysis of government data, with a focus on public health, behavioral health, healthcare, and justice. - Provide support across the data lifecycle including data intake, storage, synthesis, automation, and analytical development. - Work collaboratively with other team members to lead development and implementation of QA/QC protocols, defect tracking and management for complex coding and data projects, and adhere to standards of data security, integrity, and availability. Qualifications - Bachelor degree + 5 years’ experience, Master degree + 3 years’ experience, PhD + 0 years experience. - Experience in a data-focused field. Subject matter degrees may be in informatics, statistics, public health, social science, economics, or a related field with a focus on data and analysis. - Able to obtain and maintain public trust access for HHS information systems. - Strong skills in statistical, data analytics, and data management languages: R, Python, SAS, and SQL. - Skill in version control software (git), and development of best practices. - Critical thinker with collaborative focus, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continued skill development. - Able to handle tasks such as digitizing forms, embedding scoring logic, automating workflows, integrating systems, and building dashboards for monitoring and reporting. Requirements - Preferred: Statistics-focused background with experience in analyzing public health and survey data. - Preferred: Experience with programmatic data from behavioral health programs, including those administered or funded by SAMHSA, HRSA, or other relevant agencies. - Preferred: Experience using secondary data sources to supplement primary data analyses (e.g. census data, geographic data, key national health indicators, etc.). - Preferred: Some experience with AI coding companion tools such as GitHub copilot.
