Come Join an Inclusive Team LyondellBasell is searching for a High Voltage Electrical Maintenance Engineer for the South side of the Channelview Facility, located in Channelview, TX. Our 3,900-acre Channelview Complex consists of two Olefin units at the North side facility that manufacture Ethylene, Propylene, Butadiene and Benzene. The South side facility uses many of these products to produce Propylene Oxide, Styrene Monomer and other derivatives. This is a direct-hire position with competitive base salary, bonus, 401K matching, benefits package, pension plan and employee discounts. Channelview is 18 miles from Downtown Houston. This position is responsible for leading improvements to the high voltage electrical system at the facility and mentoring others in the group. A Day in the Life • Support the site Long Range Plan for the High Voltage Electrical System. • Address day to day electrical power system issues in unit/area of responsibility and provide technical support for the High Voltage team with issues affecting the plant distribution system. • Create, Update, and Review Comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs for electrical equipment. • Participate / support engineering standards and procedures development work. As needed, establishes the design basis for interlocks, electrical power distribution, area classification, arc flash studies and National Electrical Code compliance, and/or all governing or adopted codes. • Generate and/or review and approve all electrical specifications and design drawings/calculations within asset area. • Perform RCFA on all critical equipment failures within assigned area. • Participate in incident investigations, RCFAs, FEMAs, RCMs, etc. within assigned areas. • Support the efforts of the Area Optimization Teams to identify leveraging projects and eliminate bad actors. • Understand and support electrical capital projects from a technical perspective. • Assess the impact of projects on existing electrical power systems infrastructure and propose solutions balancing project and plant needs. • Provide technical direction for engineering contractors on electrical power systems. • Ensure applicable plant personnel are consulted for technical decisions. • Represent the Facility in industry and professional organizations addressing electrical codes and standards. • Develop electrical power systems scope of work for turnarounds and outages. • Provide planning and design support for temporary power for turnarounds and outages. • Support execution of turnaround and outage scope in unit/area of responsibility. • Create Management of Change (MOC) when related to electrical power equipment and support other MOC efforts in representation of the High Voltage Group. You Bring This Value • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. 5 or more years of prior work experience as an Electrical Engineer in a petrochemical, chemical, refining or other process related facility is preferred. • Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) & Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E), Electrical Area Classification, Electrical Corporate Engineering & Maintenance Standards, Guidelines & Procedures. • Ability to read and interpret one-lines and control schematics. • Working knowledge of Transformers, Switchgear, Motor Control Centers, Protective Relaying, Motors, Motor Starters, Fuses, O/L, AC Drives, Grounding, UPS, Batteries & Chargers, Emergency Generators, and Cables. • Ability to assimilate and quickly apply newly acquired technical information. • Ability to apply electrical theory in design, testing, and troubleshooting in a large chemical plant. • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external clients. • Ability to multitask, manage changing priorities, and proactively improve processes. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with SKM Power Tools for Windows (CAPTOR, DAPPER, transient motor starting, arc flash evaluation) is preferred.
