Role Description The Government of Alberta (GoA) has embarked on transforming the work of government to deliver simpler, more efficient, and better services for the citizens of Alberta. The Digital Design and Delivery Division (DDD) requires up to seventeen (17) Service Designers to work on service innovation, program review, and digital transformation projects across the GoA. - Work as part of cross-functional program review or product delivery teams. - Participate in activities including field research, backlog definition and refinement, and sprint planning and execution. - Responsible for review, discovery, prioritization, prototyping, evaluation, and change management for projects. Service Designers will work full-time across two (2) to three (3) projects, with a maximum of 1,960 hours unless otherwise agreed upon. Services and project deliverables will evolve based on user and business needs. - Integration of human-centred design methods into projects. - Analysis and documentation of project outcomes for efficiency and access to services. - Analysis of user and employee experience across various channels and identification of gaps, opportunities, and solutions. - Plan for and delivery of: - User and behavioral field research - Co-design workshops - Prototype design and testing - Concept testing - Journey map and service blueprint development - Process mapping - Service prototyping - User story mapping and creation - Usability testing - Service performance measurement, analysis, and reporting - Strategy and roadmap documents or diagrams - Depiction of the overall end-to-end service journey and specific needs, opportunities, solutions, and metrics. - Plan for integration of specific design and development work into the overall service experience. - Co-design and development of new processes and policies with program teams for change management. - Plan for integration of new solutions into current service operations. Qualifications - Experience in human-centred design and agile methodology. - Strong analytical skills for user and employee experience analysis. - Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. - Experience in prototyping and usability testing. • Apply the established visual direction across a high volume of existing page designs in Figma • Work from a defined web style guide to maintain consistency across page types and templates • Collaborate closely with the internal lead on daily priorities and design decisions • Contribute refinements to the web style guide as needed, under the lead’s direction • Hand off approved Figma files to the web team for CMS implementation
