• Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive safety plans and protocols for industrial construction projects • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure appropriate safety measures are in place • Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to identify safety concerns and provide recommendations for mitigating risks • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations • Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to assess compliance with safety procedures and identify areas for improvement • Oversee safety training and orientation to all personnel involved in the project, ensuring they are aware of safety protocols and equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills • Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to industrial construction safety • Liaise with regulatory agencies and external safety consultants to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations • Maintain accurate records and documentation of safety-related activities, including incident reports, training records, and safety inspections
Job Requirements
- Professional Safety Certification (ex: CSP, CHST, OHST, etc.) or 10 years of equivalent experience in construction safety management
- Proven experience in industrial construction safety, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong knowledge of construction operations and safety regulations, including OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards
- Excellent understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement comprehensive safety plans and protocols
- Effective leadership and communication skills to coordinate and motivate a diverse team
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address safety concerns promptly and effectively
- Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest safety standards
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) are preferred
