Associate Platform Engineer

• Develop, test, and maintain Platform APIs and backend services • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Implementation teams to translate business requirements into reliable, maintainable code. • Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and troubleshooting efforts for development and production systems. • Document and maintain codebase standards, contributing to ongoing quality and reliability improvements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 1-3 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Experience with C# or another backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js), gained through coursework, projects, or early professional experience.
  • Understanding of RESTful API development and database management (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred) and CI/CD workflows.

The role Quanata is seeking a Platform DevEx Engineer to join us in providing a suite of solutions that enable our product development and engineering organization to create, and deliver Quanata’s technical offerings. Our team focuses on enabling software engineers to reliably and rapidly deliver software, and manage the company’s cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a background in the software development lifecycle, and experience as a Site Reliability Engineer. Your day-to-day Design and develop the platform architecture to enable developers to self service in building out infrastructure. Collaborate with development teams to ensure their applications are optimized for deployment in an IAC environment, and meet security and compliance needs. Develop and maintain automation and deployment processes to enable and improve developer experience and efficiency. Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the platform is performing at its best and identify areas for improvement. Encourage developer autonomy and self-service by contributing to developer training and documentation for Platform products. Promote a supportive culture focused on building reliable systems and processes based on established best practices in the industry. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the platform, including performance and scalability issues. Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for internal developer services. About you Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant professional experience and; Typically requires 6-8 years of experience to include: 2 or more years of experience designing and operating scalable, resilient systems in production environments. 3 or more years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or SRE roles. Experience and understanding of CI/CD processes and tooling such as GitLab, Github, or Jenkins. Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, TypeScript, or Java). Experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi. Strong experience managing observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, etc.) and incident response tooling (PagerDuty, Opsgenie, etc.). Experience working in GCP or AWS. Enjoy automating infrastructure but engage in understanding your customer needs. Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to contribute during code reviews, and capture tasks. Excellent troubleshooting skills and great attention to detail. Strong collaboration skills and flexibility Bonus points Experience with Backstage, Port, or other developer portal tooling. Prior involvement in running developer surveys or gathering feedback to guide DevEx improvements. Salary: $225,000 to $285,000* *Please note that the final salary offered will be determined based on the selected candidate's skills, and experience, as well as the internal salary structure at Quanata.
