In Precision Strike & Sensing Solutions, we design and manufacture state-of-the-art systems and technology that enable our customers to execute their precision strike missions. The PS business area is seeking a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer to support the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Development program. This role will be the primary point of contact for Supplier Quality on THAAD Development. This role will work closely with the Development Engineering and Quality teams to implement tools and processes to ensure suppliers develop robust processes that deliver conforming material on-time to BAE. The person will investigate, evaluate, and resolve supplier quality problems including proactive management via defect trend analysis, preventative measures, and continuous improvement projects. This position will include approximately 25%+ travel if reporting to Nashua, NH facility. A higher travel % would be required for remote consideration. Responsibilities: - Develop robust and highly capable supplier processes that support THAAD production and deliver consistent conforming material on-time - Perform and Evaluate First Article Inspections per the requirements of AS9102 as well as train suppliers to meet BAE Systems expectations - Partner with the Category Supplier Quality team on problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances, with the ability to lead suppliers through complete RCCA to find root cause and solve complex technical problems - Perform Production Process Verifications (PPV's) at supplier locations and participate in PPAP review process and other aspects of APQP - Flow down contractual requirements to suppliers based on QMS / part / risk / customer requirements via quality clausing codes - Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and program quality to identify part and supplier risk for proactive mitigation activities. The successful candidate: - A self-starter who identifies problems/challenges and takes initiatives to identify a solution.
