Unreal Programmer
High Voltage Software
• Collaborate closely with art and design to create and iterate on UE5 based gameplay features • Implement core game functionality such as application specific AI, physics, character control, camera management, inventory systems, event handling, UI, etc • Improve existing gameplay systems by diagnosing and fixing bugs in networking, rendering, gameplay logic, profile management, world streaming / relevancy and more • Design and write robust, well-structured, data-driven code that is easy to maintain and built for long-term use • Maintain awareness of state of the art tools & techniques for developing high quality, competitive UE based game applications • Write clear technical design and specification documents • Contribute ideas toward all aspects of game production and development
Job Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
- 2-5+ years of experience working with Unreal Engine 5 in the gaming industry
- Expert-level proficiency in C++ and UE Blueprints, with a proven ability to architect and code complex gameplay mechanics
- History of solving complex technical issues and successful UE problem solving
- Strong math skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal)
- Proficiency with source control, debuggers, profilers, and other software development tools
- Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and able to work independently
- Passion for video games
