• As a Senior System Designer, you will report to the Lead designer and you will work directly with the team members, designers, artists, data scientists and developers. • Handle large parts of the game and oversee multiple game systems. • Design metagames, economies, gameplay and any other needed game systems from A to Z. • Foresee complex issues and resolve them before they happen. • Turn complexity into simple and fun player facing experiences by analyzing, abstracting and conceptualizing deep systems to reduce them to their essential. • Design with Fun, User Experience (UX) and product (KPIs) in mind. • Apply systemic thinking to creative processes and problem solving. • Create game systems from scratch, balance them and create your own tools when needed. • Use spreadsheets, projections, system prototyping, simulations, resource flows, flowcharts, game loops, progression curves and any other tools needed to design and communicate clear and functional game systems. • Use well established theoretical and industry best practices (e.g. Rational Game Design, Compulsion Loops, etc.). • Produce sustainable game design documentation to facilitate the integration of features and balancings to the game through any part of a game’s life-cycle. • Collaborate with other designers, creative owners, stakeholders and disciplines to design game systems that work together holistically on all fronts (Fun, UX, Monetization, Engagement, Retention, etc.). • Mentor other designers into your craft and help them grow. • Support the project at a foundational level.
Job Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a professional game designer.
- Deep understanding and experience of Free-to-Play Live-Ops events and content pipelines.
- Advanced mastery of spreadsheets and other design tools.
- Proficiency with game data structures and configs on a technical level.
- Thorough understanding of games' commercial appeal, including outside your personal gamer demographic.
- Bilingual French/English is preferred.
