The Role As the Data Center GM will lead data center operations across our Midwest region, starting with our Missouri site and expanding to additional locations over time. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of operations, performance, and team build-out across multiple sites. You will act as the primary interface between Nebius and external partners, while ensuring our data centers operate reliably, efficiently, and at scale. This role is closest in scope to a Regional Operations Director in a hyperscale environment, combining hands-on operational leadership with regional ownership. Responsibilities: - Own end to end data center operations across the region, including critical facilities and IT infrastructure - Ensure uptime, performance, and SLA delivery across all sites - Scale from a single-site operation to a multi-site regional footprint (Missouri → additional U.S. locations) - Hire, lead, and develop data center managers and operations teams - Act as the primary operational interface with external partners, including vendors, utilities, and service providers - Drive incident response and operational improvements, including root cause analysis and process standardization - Implement and maintain operational excellence frameworks, monitoring, and performance visibility - Ensure safety, compliance, and regulatory adherence across all sites - Partner with internal teams (engineering, network, hardware) to support capacity delivery and expansion Requirements: - 10+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical operations - Experience leading data center operations teams and site managers - Strong background in critical environment infrastructure (power, cooling, environmental systems) - Experience working with third-party vendors and external stakeholders - Proven ability to operate in high-availability, large-scale environments - Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and scaling teams - Ability to operate with ownership, accountability, and autonomy Preferred Skills: - Experience in hyperscale environments - Experience managing multi-site or regional operations - Familiarity with: - Server hardware and rack infrastructure - Linux systems and basic networking (DHCP, DNS) - Monitoring systems and performance analysis - Experience supporting data center expansion or new site builds Key employee benefits: - Health insurance: 100% company-paid medical, dental and vision coverage for employees and families. - 401(k) plan: Up to 4% company match with immediate vesting. - Parental leave: 20 weeks paid for primary caregivers, 12 weeks for secondary caregivers. - Remote work reimbursement: Up to $85/month for mobile and internet. - Disability & life insurance: Company-paid short-term, long-term and life insurance coverage.
