Payroll Coordinator

Welo Global

Role Description The Payroll Coordinator keeps the financial engine running smoothly for a distributed workforce of 300–500 people. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will: - Process payments, manage submissions, track overtime and paid time off, and resolve finance tickets with speed and accuracy. - This role is about precision, follow-through, and great communication — no background in AI is required. - This is a great starting point for someone who is organized, numbers-savvy, and wants to build a career in operations inside a fast-growing global data company. Qualifications - 1-3 years of experience in payroll processing, accounts payable, finance operations, or an administrative role where attention to detail was required. - Hands-on experience working with large spreadsheets (500+ rows) and using formulas to manage or reconcile data. - Experience going beyond spreadsheets: building reports or dashboards that make finance data easy to read and act on, and an instinct for automation or system integrations that reduce manual work. Requirements - Spreadsheet proficiency: Comfortable building and maintaining complex Excel or Google Sheets workbooks; confident with VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables, and data validation. - Attention to detail: Catches errors before they become problems; double-checks figures before submitting. - Organization: Manages multiple priorities simultaneously without dropping tasks; keeps records tidy and easy for others to navigate. - Communication: Writes clear, professional messages in English; can explain a discrepancy or a process step simply. - Initiative: Spots a gap and closes it without waiting to be asked; flags risks early. - Independence: Comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment and managing their own workload day-to-day. - Positive attitude: Approaches repetitive, detail-heavy work with care and consistency; treats colleagues and stakeholders with respect. Benefits - The best person for this job follows instructions carefully and asks clarifying questions. - Takes ownership of their queue; nothing sits unresolved without a status update. - Works independently. - Brings a positive, can-do attitude to routine, high-volume work. - Treats every payment and every record as if an auditor might review it tomorrow.
