JOB SUMMARY The HR Coordinator I provides administrative support and services for the Human Resources Department, interacting primarily with the HR team, employees, and managers throughout the company. JOB DUTIES - Provides administrative support to the HR team - Assists with determining Individual Provider (IP) employment eligibility - Supports HR reporting via HRIS and Excel to provide ongoing metrics for HR - Assists with employee onboarding, both locally and remotely - Assists with all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests - Facilitates IP investigation requests via the HAD/AEN Line intake process - Maintains employee records and confidentiality - Processes Unemployment Insurance claims - Assists with new hire and termination processing and other HR processes relating to compliance - Schedules meetings, HR events, and maintains agendas - Provides support during internal and external compliance audits - Updates SOPs and Job Aids - Keeps up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices - Assists or prepares correspondence as requested - Processes incoming and outgoing mail - Performs other related duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS - Two to four years of related work experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience - Experience with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook - Experience with an HRIS platform such as Workday - Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Employees must provide their own reliable internet if working a remote/hybrid position The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle, or feel; and to stand, walk, reach, bend, or lift up to 20 pounds. Role Description The People Ops Generalist supports the day-to-day operations of the People with a primary focus on regulatory compliance, data analytics, operations, employee relations support, and benefits administration. This role helps ensure that company & People Ops policies, processes, and employee lifecycle activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. Reporting into the Director, the Generalist serves as a trusted operational partner to employees while maintaining strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and risk mitigation. This position also plays an important role in maintaining HCM data integrity and leveraging HCM system reporting and analytics to support compliance monitoring, workforce insights, and informed decision-making. The ideal candidate is a proactive and analytical HCM professional who effectively bridges employee needs, operational processes, and legal compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities - Compliance & Risk Management - Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FEP, EEO, FMLA, and ADA. - Identify potential compliance risks and escalate findings to the Director of People Operations with recommended corrective actions. - Conduct routine audits of personnel files, I-9 documentation, payroll records, job classifications, and People Ops data to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. - Assist in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining employee handbooks, company & People Ops policies, and procedures to reflect evolving legal and regulatory requirements. - Employee Relations & Investigations - Support the Director of People Operations in addressing employee relations matters, including employee concerns, policy interpretation, and workplace conflict resolution. - May provide guidance to employees on policies, performance management practices, and disciplinary procedures to promote fairness and consistency. - Data Management, Reporting & Analytics - Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data validation) to compile, audit, and analyze HCM data. - Maintain data accuracy and integrity within the HCM system around routine audits and quality checks. - Generate and analyze HCM reports related to people, turnover, leave usage, payroll data, and benefits participation. - Support leadership with data-driven insights that help identify trends, potential compliance issues, or operational improvements. - Operations, Payroll & Benefits Administration - Audit benefit invoices and payroll deductions to ensure accuracy and alignment with enrollment records. - Serve as a backup resource for payroll processing and assist in resolving payroll discrepancies or employee inquiries. - Administer employee leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave Act, state leave programs, and accommodation processes under the Americans with Disabilities Act. - Support administration of employee benefit programs, including health, retirement, and wellness plans. - Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Administration - Ensure onboarding processes comply with federal employment eligibility requirements, including proper completion and verification of Form I-9 documentation. - Support employee lifecycle transactions including job changes, compensation updates, and terminations while ensuring accurate HCM documentation. Qualifications - 3–5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, preferably in an PEOPLE OPERATIONS Generalist or PEOPLE OPERATIONS Compliance-focused role. - Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, a related field or equivalent work experience. - Experience working with Human Capital Management (HCM) platforms (e.g., Dayforce, Workday, SAP). - Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting functions. - Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying federal and state employment laws and compliance requirements. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities. - Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Preferred Qualifications - HR Certification such as SHRM Certified Professional. - Experience supporting People Operations or HR in multi-state or multi-site organizations. Core Competencies - Analytical Thinking: Ability to audit HCM data, identify trends or anomalies, and recognize potential compliance risks. - Judgment & Confidentiality: Exercises sound judgment while handling sensitive employee relations and compliance matters. - Collaboration: Works effectively with People Operations leadership, employees, and external partners to support initiatives and operations.
