• Lead end-to-end pricing work across personal lines products, including indications, segmentation reviews, trend selections, and new product pricing. • Build and enhance pricing tools, analytical frameworks, and automated workflows that improve speed, rigor, repeatability, and insight. • Partner closely with product, underwriting, and business leaders to align pricing strategy and operational execution. • Serve as a technical mentor and raise the bar for actuarial craftsmanship, precision, and judgment across the team. • Develop, refine, and validate actuarial methodologies that improve rate adequacy, risk differentiation, and portfolio performance. • Integrate broader drivers of pricing performance into actuarial analysis, including catastrophe exposure, reinsurance impacts, and changing risk conditions where appropriate. • Translate complex technical findings into clear recommendations for senior leadership and non-actuarial stakeholders. • Improve actuarial governance, documentation standards, and analytical quality across the pricing organization.
Job Requirements
- FCAS or Career ACAS designation.
- 7+ years in personal lines pricing, including knowledge of CAT and reinsurance modeling output
- Advanced knowledge of actuarial pricing methods (indications, trends, segmentation)
- Proficient with SQL/Python for actuarial analysis and modeling; Advanced Excel skills for building models and frameworks
- Experienced in independently leading complex technical analyses
- Interest and experience with generative AI to enhance actuarial work

You will also provide support to various actuarial modernization and automation projects. What you'll be doing Produce statutory reserves and capital results under VM-21 for financial reporting and Lincoln’s variable annuity hedging program. Develop modeling software expertise in GGY-AXIS for variable annuities and RILA products. Build on existing automation efforts within Dataiku, Tableau and Appian to increase efficiency, reduce the potential for error and improve presentation of results. Collaborate with the Capital Management and FP&A teams to build new tools and processes to gain further insights into VA capital. Work cross-functionally with other teams, including Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Market Risk Management (MRM), Model Development, Pricing, Audit, ERM, Investments, Capital Management, and the Qualified Actuary team. Role Description A Senior Actuary is a non-rotational position outside of Hannover Re’s Actuarial Development Program (“ADP”). The Senior Actuary’s primary responsibility is to lead the experience study process for the Life Solutions Long Term Care Hybrid (LTCH) business. Essential Functions: - (60%) Technical Support and Analysis - Lead the technical completion of LTCH experience studies and model validation by writing and running R code utilizing an internal R package. - Implement new statistical methodologies to further analytic abilities and strengthen the assumption review/adjustment process. - Summarize experience results and work with the AVP, Actuary, to improve the LTCH model assumptions. - Implement assumption updates to the LTCH assumption database and perform impact analysis on the projected financial results. Review results for reasonableness to validate correct implementation. Abide by model governance guidelines when implementing approved assumptions updates into the production model. - Comprehensively document technical process, ensure integrity of results by collaborating with key stakeholders to develop/implement controls to ensure auditability, and be prepared to speak to completed analysis for internal or external stakeholders. - (30%) Business Management and Collaboration - Support the development of the business requirements for the underlying experience study data that feeds the LTCH experience studies. - Identify areas of weakness with experience study data and communicate data needs for remediation and improvement. - Train and assist peers and junior employees, as requested or required, to foster growth and development within the department. - Actively manage multiple priorities and responsibilities, effectively prioritize and communicate progress with results to the stakeholder group. - Look for ways to improve processes for efficiency and accuracy. - Coordinate with stakeholders, including the financial reporting and modeling teams, to ensure objectives are aligned with quarterly valuation deadlines. - (10%) Ad-hoc Project / Other - Assist with ad-hoc projects in the department.
