Role Description As a Location Independent Worker, for operational reasons you may be required to perform your duties, either temporarily or permanently, from any of Vodafone’s UK offices or customer sites within a reasonable geographic area of your home address. Our “Office in a Box” home working kit will provide you with everything you need, no matter where you are. As a LAN & Wi-Fi Solution Design Authority you will: - Create detailed technical designs for high profile customers, offering specialist expertise and full technical ownership. - Act as a subject matter expert, owning the customer solution design during post sales delivery. - Participate in and often lead detailed design and integration workshops to capture technical requirements and define the best solution for the customer. - Plan and deliver end to end LAN, WLAN, SD WAN and NAC solutions based on customer requirements, including migration planning and testing. - Carry out hands-on build work when needed, including staging, commissioning, and installing new network equipment. - Attend site visits and installations where necessary. - Ensure the customer signs off the final solution and build. - Produce Vodafone work packages that break down detailed deliverables and the required resources within agreed SLAs. - Provide pre and post sales consultancy to support new business opportunities and deliver 4th line support to the customer services organisation. - Support the development and evolution of Vodafone products, continuously seeking to improve the customer experience through the product lifecycle. - Work co-operatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and organisational objectives. Qualifications - Industry recognised vendor qualification to Professional or Expert level. Cisco CCNP Enterprise minimum or related experience. - Experience of dealing face to face with customers in a high-level technical role (i.e., Consultant, Designer, Senior Engineer), including delivering presentations. - In-depth knowledge and practical experience of LAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, NAC. - Experience in design & deployment of Enterprise level LAN infrastructure, including L2 & L3 technologies, as well as network access control. - Experience of varied Wi-Fi deployments; Indoor/Outdoor Wi-Fi, Wireless Mesh Networking, Wi-Fi 1 – 6, differing antennas. - Sound understanding of Design best practice, business processes and frameworks (ITIL and eTOM) used to deliver complex customer solutions.
