Senior Underwriting Associate

CVS Health

• Support Aetna's ability to achieve its financial and strategic goals through effective underwriting • Prepare and deliver routine new business quotes and/or existing business renewals and/or accountings • Review work with mentor/manager and respond to requests for pricing and/or accounting balance alternatives based on financial analysis, underwriting principals and business strategy • Utilize basic functionality of underwriting tools, systems, and reference materials to produce accurate quotes, renewals and/or accountings • Escalate underwriting exceptions/financial variances for assigned cases to the appropriate level • Assist sale personnel in explaining rate/fee, accounting balance development and communicating underwriting policy • Produce timely and accurate customer specific documents, deliverables and accounting related information

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of insurance, rating and underwriting concepts a plus
  • Demonstrated analytical and independent thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Ability to use standard corporate software packages and corporate applications
  • High School/GED or equivalent experience, Bachelor's degree preferred

This is a full-time remote/work from home opportunity outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. If located in the Cincinnati area, this opportunity will be a hybrid schedule, working 4 days in the office and 1 day at home. Here’s what you would be doing if hired for the position: - The Underwriting Assistant will provide customer service and administrative support to the Underwriting department. - Gathers data from several sources, including the clients, on new and renewal business for the underwriting decision process. - Organizes the data and provides it to the Underwriters to help speed decision making. - Maintains effective business relationships with internal and external customers in relation to the underwriting process. Complies with company and regulatory guidelines. - Performs other duties as assigned.
