• Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to casualty leadership • Serve as a key liaison between the Casualty Line of Business and other business units, ensuring alignment in underwriting strategies, priorities, and execution • Help underwriters craft coverage with precision, clarity, and intent • Influence the next generation of casualty products and capabilities • Strengthen underwriting discipline while enabling smart growth in evolving markets • Engage directly with underwriting teams through in-person collaboration, field travel, and hands-on development • Lead and execute casualty product strategy initiatives aligned to profitability, growth, and long-term portfolio objectives • Partner with Product, Actuarial, Claims, and Business Units to design, evolve, and implement casualty product offerings and strategic roadmaps • Translate market trends, emerging risks, and legal/regulatory shifts into actionable underwriting, product, and distribution strategies • Champion innovation in underwriting approach, product design, and participation in alternative distribution models • Collaborate with corporate underwriting leadership to refine underwriting guidance, best practices, and authority frameworks, including administration of underwriting authority levels • Mentor underwriters and leaders to elevate technical expertise, judgment, and decision quality.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on IT internal controls, providing guidance and education to IT and business partners • Assist in the testing of the IT SOX controls, including IT general controls (ITGCs), automated controls (ITACs), and key report testing • Lead walkthroughs of key business processes and underlying technology, collaborating with IT and business process owners to design effective and efficient controls • Create and maintain detailed IT SOX documentation, including IT process flowcharts, risk and control matrices, and testing workpapers • Conduct IT risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and prioritize technology-related risks to financial reporting and business operations • Evaluate IT control deficiencies to understand root cause and impact and work with process and control owners to develop and track effective remediation plans • Evaluate controls and processes for opportunities to leverage automation and new technologies, reducing manual effort and improving control effectiveness • Assist in the execution of the audit plan, including the performance of risk assessments and coordination of internal audit testing • Serve as a liaison for external auditors and support documentation requests
• Develop Product vision, performance metrics, roadmaps, and clearly communicate this with stakeholders and team members. • Define the business value for the Product and support messaging, communication, and customer outreach as necessary. • Build the Product Backlog, prioritize the backlog based on business value, and continuously refine the backlog. • Prioritizing backlog includes incorporating stakeholder input into product roadmap while effectively negotiating tradeoffs of conflicting priorities based on value to the business and customer. • Breakdown large epics/features and write user stories that convey value to the end user. • Ensure appropriate stakeholders are involved in the Sprint Review. • Ensure team members understand the stories in the backlog and the business value they deliver. • Collaborate with technical leadership in and outside the team to help define the technical roadmap for the Product (several sprints ahead of them). • Engage with customers and stakeholders on a regular basis to gather feedback and refine the future of the Product as a result (including continuous process improvement) and adjust the backlog as needed. • Raise dependencies and roadblocks both internal and external to the team, with support of the Scrum Master and help resolve them if needed. • Scope minimum viable products, considering existing resource constraints and sustained development of the Product

• Provide strategic leadership for all field liability claim units, including Litigation, Non‑Litigation Liability, and GL Property Damage. • Develop long‑term department strategy, goals, and KPIs aligned with corporate objectives. • Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed team of Field Leaders, Litigation Managers, and Senior Adjusters. • Oversee complex and high‑severity liability, property damage, and auto physical damage claims. • Collaborate with legal teams to guide litigation strategy and settlement authority. • Develop and manage departmental budgets, staffing models, and workload distribution.
• Provides executive leadership and ownership for the organizations outside counsel litigation portfolio • Implements the strategy of our panel counsel partnerships, managing outside counsel, overseeing legal budgets, guiding case resolution • Ensures compliance with organizational standards and jurisdictional requirements • Partners closely with Claims, UFG Legal Department, and Senior Leadership • Develops and manages the litigation guidelines, including legal spend forecasting and cost‑containment initiatives • Leverages analytics and reporting to identify cost drivers and opportunities for process improvement • Ensures litigation handling is compliant with all state and federal regulatory requirements • Serves as a key advisor to senior leadership on litigation risk, outcomes, and strategy • Leads, mentors, and develops a team of Litigation Managers, Litigation Specialists, and Claims leaders.
• Lead day-to-day claims operations across assigned lines of business (e.g., Property, Casualty, Auto, Workers’ Compensation, or Specialty) • Ensure consistent, timely, and accurate claim handling aligned with company standards, regulatory requirements, and service level agreements • Monitor claim inventory, cycle times, severity, leakage, and reserve adequacy; proactively address trends and performance gaps • Ensure adherence to internal controls and audit standards requirements • Directly lead a team of Claims professionals • Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop high performing claims staff with a focus on technical skill and succession planning • Establish clear performance expectations and conduct regular coaching, performance reviews, and corrective action as needed • Partner with Claims Leadership, Actuarial, Finance, and Legal to manage indemnity and expense outcomes • Champion a customer centric claims experience while balancing business and compliance requirements • Execute enterprise and claims specific initiatives, including process improvement, technology adoption, and operational transformation.
