UI/UX Usability Specialist
Platinum Technologies
• Provide instant UX guidance based on industry best practices and accessibility standards. • Ensure usability best practices align with the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) for government platforms. • Identify and implement optimal UX solutions within ITA’s existing technical environment. • Conduct usability research and recommend design improvements to enhance customer journeys. • Develop wireframes and storyboards to visualize UX solutions and customer interactions. • Translate wireframes and user flows into technical specifications required by developers. • Collaborate with developers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition from concept to implementation. • Work within an Agile environment, actively participating in standups, sprint planning, and backlog grooming. • Communicate UX recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Document usability research, design decisions, and best practices for continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience in UX/UI design, usability, or front-end design.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and federal accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG).
- Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and customer journey maps using tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or Axure.
- Ability to translate UX designs into detailed technical specifications for development teams.
- Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Preferred Skills.
- Experience designing UX solutions for government agencies or regulated environments.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end frameworks to support UX recommendations.
- Familiarity with usability testing methods and tools.

In this role, you will do more than design features; you will design the systems and UX philosophies that elevate our design org.
