Senior Ruby on Rails Developer
Evident Change
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, high-performance software systems that support Evident Change’s mission • Lead design discussions and provide architectural guidance across complex application development efforts • Conduct and lead code reviews, offering constructive feedback and enforcing coding standards and best practices • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, supporting skill development and technical growth • Evaluate and recommend tools, libraries, and frameworks to improve development efficiency and system performance • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis to ensure system reliability and continuous improvement
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in software development; Ruby on Rails development is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with the following technologies: Hotwire (Turbo + Stimulus); Tailwind CSS; PostgreSQL; RSpec and FactoryBot (for testing).
- Advanced experience with Git, including code review workflows and CI/CD integration.
- Advanced SQL optimization and data modeling skills.
- Experience designing and building APIs and scalable systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor other engineers.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
