Role Description The Senior Business Analyst serves as the primary analyst supporting Commercial Lines product implementations, system enhancements, and operational process improvements across multiple states and products. Responsibilities include: - Ensuring that business requirements are documented and every functional/business consideration is identified before implementing each project. - Reviewing and confirming requirements with clients and internal departments before finalization. - Documenting functional requirements and exploring innovative solutions with best practices for prevalent use cases. - Consulting with business units and technical teams for detailed data availability, location, lineage, and quality. - Working within the Development Life Cycle and ensuring delivery according to project timelines. - Coordinating with stakeholders to define go-live activities and tracking progress. - Performing follow-up communication and documenting resolutions to maintain project timelines. - Analyzing possible impacts to the schedule for requested changes and updating project timelines as needed. - Developing and executing presentations and preparing documentation for workgroup meetings. - Facilitating meetings and conference calls to orient new clients and collaborate with stakeholders. - Managing project plans in collaboration with the project manager. - Gathering, documenting, and validating business and system requirements. - Supporting rate, rule, and form changes in core platforms. - Coordinating with underwriting, product teams, and IT. - Analyzing production issues and supporting root-cause analysis. - Creating user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and process documentation. - Ensuring accurate delivery of regulatory and filing-driven changes. - Supporting integration with underwriting tools, rating engines, forms libraries, and external data services. - Creating functional specifications and translating business requirements into functional specifications, database designs, and detailed test plans. - Partnering with clients to gather requirements and formulate business process specifications. - Assisting the technical team in translating application functionality into architecture and system functionality documents. - Updating documentation and processes for operational teams to accommodate offered products. - Managing the development life cycle and creating/updating project documentation. - Representing the business as the subject matter expert in designated work streams. - Staying abreast of overall product strategy, roadmap(s), and release management processes. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a related field. - Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. - Continuous learning, as defined by the Company’s learning philosophy, is required. - Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged. Requirements - Five years of relevant experience as a business analyst in healthcare or health insurance, Medicare, and commercial business lines, or related industry. - Ability to manage multiple assignments and implement projects. - Demonstrated excellence in a rapid environment with the ability to gather requirements and achieve high-quality results. - Knowledge of necessary software development practices and procedures. - Ability to apply independent logical thinking to define problems and draw valid conclusions. - Ability to design program logic, prepare test data, and test programs. - Excellent triage, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. - Experience working with multi-functional teams for complex data analysis and business intelligence needs. - Strong communication and negotiation skills. - Ability to work in both structured and unstructured environments. - Ability to support projects using various project management methodologies. Benefits - Actual compensation decision relies on internal equity, candidate’s skills and experience, geographic location, market, and other factors. - Reasonable estimate for this role is between $64,900 and $147,250.
