Job Description

Counselling Educator

• Responsible for preparing, delivering and assessing subjects as allocated in the VET CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling • Ensure students are provided with the best opportunity to attain learning outcomes/competencies and satisfactorily complete their assessment tasks • Participate in course review initiatives, including validation and moderation activities • Provide student support outside of timetabled class hours • Stay abreast of the counselling discipline by undertaking relevant professional development activities and maintaining proficiency/currency through a self-directed program of academic scholarship and professional development

Job Requirements

  • Experience in education / training and assessment at the CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling
  • Understanding of pedagogical and/or adult learning principles relevant to teaching counselling subjects units including: theoretical components and interpersonal skills, case management and mental health
  • Appropriately qualified in the relevant discipline for level of teaching (qualified to Diploma level or higher than the course of study being taught)
  • Holds the following credential, TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Sound understanding and practice of professional counselling for at least two years
  • Full membership of PACFA or ACA counselling association
