Technical Services Veterinarian

Role Description The Technical Services Veterinarian, Livestock provides technical support for assigned products and geography in New Zealand. This is a field-based role reporting to the Technical Services Lead, Livestock. What You Will Do - Provide technical comparisons vs competitors and highlight product benefits - Deliver timely technical support and on-the-job training to the sales team - Identify and close knowledge gaps within the sales team - Work with Territory Managers to identify market needs and develop local strategies - Advise farmers, resellers and veterinarians on correct product use - Respond to technical enquiries and source required information - Produce technical writing including trial reports, articles and bulletins - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, veterinary medicine and farming practice - Monitor competitor technical developments and advise Technical Manager of impacts - Lead investigation and resolution of adverse events and manage PV casework per policy - Accompany sales on customer visits and provide product, disease and systems training to sales, marketing and customer service teams - Design and run marketing trials, analyse data and coordinate publication with R&D - Support R&D projects with field assistance, technical evaluations and regulatory input - Liaise with veterinarians, research groups, MPI contacts, distributors and end users - Provide technical input on complaints and adverse reactions - Maintain and develop technical manuals and training materials - Represent the business in industry technical forums and educational presentations - Ensure compliance with all relevant Acts, policies and procedures Qualifications - Bachelor of Veterinary Science essential - Extensive proven prior experience in the livestock veterinary industry essential, preferably in New Zealand - Experience in the Animal Health industry preferred - Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills - Self-starter who works well with minimal supervision - Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines Requirements - Role will require approximately 60% travel Benefits - Field autonomy to lead technical initiatives with direct impact across NZ - Hands-on R&D exposure and real-world trials to accelerate your technical expertise - Strategic influence working with sales, R&D and regulators to shape product success - Career mobility into specialist, leadership or cross-functional roles through visible results - Collaborative network of vets, farmers and industry leaders driving practical outcomes
