Ind Engineer - DCD The Ind Engineer – DC Design is responsible for developing a conceptual and a detailed design and the implementation of new distribution and fulfillment business. Your role on the team: Analyzes client data to determine order profiles, storage media application, product slotting, velocity, SKU affinities, ABC analysis Supports the sales process by supporting the solutions team’s response to RFPs including developing materials and presenting to potential clients Participates in scope confirmation sessions with client and conducts gap analysis to ensure issues are resolved; identifies changes to the scope when they occur and provides necessary documentation and escalation Leads detailed engineering process on new business awards to take the design from conceptualization to full detailed design ready for implementation by performing data analyses, developing material handling specifications, working with vendors to obtain quotes, and generating a detailed, engineered AutoCAD layout with fitment into the selected facility Prepares engineering documents to describe solution and detailed operating concepts such as storage and shipping capacity, zoning, slotting, waving, etc. and facilitates reviews with key work stream leads including engineering peers, WMS Implementation, and operations Participates on a team responsible for the implementation of new business by preparing WMS configuration files with all needed locations slotting/zoning/sequences/put-away and picking profiles for the facility and preparing slotting files and/or slotting tool for the facility Manages material handling vendors through schedule, permitting, installation, commissioning, punch lists, etc. and validates all equipment installation, including necessary testing of automated material handling equipment Researches and maintains knowledge of emerging industry practice Other duties as required and assigned What you need: (requirements)

• Technically lead on-site deployment of GPU-based compute clusters, storage systems, and high-speed networking in data centers. • Support Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and tracking project delivery activities. • Organize and supervise contractors, vendors, and internal technical teams to ensure smooth execution of deployment workstreams. • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and operational issues during deployments. • Maintain clear and accurate project documentation, including deployment plans, risk logs, issue trackers, and acceptance reports. • Ensure transparent communication with all stakeholders by providing regular status updates, escalating blockers, and managing expectations. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, networking, operations, and supply chain. • Participate in related project activities such as automation initiatives, process improvements, and post-deployment support when required.

• Work with engineers internal to the company, and within the open source community on feature and bug fix requests, through clear communication, collaboration, and responsible stewardship • Engage with the open source community, industry partners, and standards bodies via common platforms (e.g., Slack, Github, etc.) to help drive our open source projects forward • Amplify the voice of our projects within the ecosystem by delivering a mission-focused end-user experience and collaborating with users to produce case studies, blogs, or conference presentations • Proactively identify and resolve ambiguity in product requirements • Comfortable working proactively, managing time efficiently, and thriving in a vibrant remote work environment • Integrate software products with existing defense systems, ensuring seamless interoperability and adherence to security protocols • Own architecture decisions and ensure technical quality across the engineering team • Develop comprehensive documentation, including design specifications (via Zarf Enhancement Proposals), user manuals, and maintenance guides • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform product enhancements and innovation • Provide technical mentorship and elevate engineering standards across the team • Influence product direction through deep understanding of user needs and system constraints
