Job Description

Chief Financial Officer

ZipLiens

• Own the company’s P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and treasury management. • Establish and manage the monthly/quarterly financial close process. • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A in coordination with executive leadership. • Manage relationships with external accounting firms, tax advisors, and auditors. • Own lender compliance and reporting (existing and future facilities). • Deliver board-ready financial packages to the Founder and PE sponsor. • Hire and manage a Controller and build out the finance team. • Execute capital markets transactions to monetize the company’s mass tort receivable pipeline, including factoring, credit facilities, and structured financing. • Lead the company’s transition from cash to accrual accounting (ASC 606). This is a major near-term project involving accounting firm engagement, revenue recognition policy development, 2–3 year historical restatement, and full audit—estimated at 8–12 months to completion. This is the single most consequential infrastructure project on the near-term horizon. • Build lender-grade portfolio reporting and data infrastructure in coordination with operations and technology. • Develop and maintain the borrowing base methodology and underwriting framework for the receivable portfolio. • Engage and manage relationships with institutional lenders, specialty finance counterparties, and structured finance counsel. • Present proposed transactions to the Investment Committee for approval. • Own the financial narrative for investors: audited financials, capital markets documentation, and portfolio analytics.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including CFO or VP of Finance roles.
  • Experience as a finance leader at a PE-backed company, with understanding of board reporting, investor reporting, and sponsor expectations.
  • Deep operational finance capabilities: monthly close, FP&A, budgeting, cash management, and audit coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or managing accrual accounting conversions from cash basis, including ASC 606 revenue recognition policy development, historical financial restatement, and coordination with outside audit firms. This is a critical near-term project and candidates without direct experience managing this type of conversion will be at a significant disadvantage.
  • Exposure to structured finance, receivable monetization, asset-backed lending, or capital markets transactions. Direct deal origination experience is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to build and lead a finance team, including hiring a Controller and potentially a capital markets analyst.
  • Strong communication skills for board presentations, lender negotiations, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Legal industry or specialty finance experience is a plus but not required.

Benefits

  • Private Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Company HSA contributions for HDHP participants
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (Health & Dependent Care)
  • Company-Paid Short-Term Disability Coverage
  • Voluntary Long-Term Disability, Life, AD&D, and Supplemental Coverage Options
  • 401(k) Plan with Company Match
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick Time & Select Holidays)
  • Paid Parental Leave
