Sanitation Excellence Manager
Glanbia
Role Description The Sanitation Excellence Manager will oversee the harmonization of Glanbia’s Sanitation programs and performance, including development of sanitation performance, policies and procedures in support of Glanbia Nutritional’s Food Safety and Quality pillars. Provide strategic leadership, ensuring establishment and maintenance of overall vision, objectives, culture for sanitation processes and performance metrics. Direct global harmonization and continuous improvement of sanitation programs related to the manufacturing of Glanbia products. Manage the development, execution, and adherence of global sanitation standards at all Glanbia manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal Glanbia expectations. Collaborate with interfacing departments to ensure efficient cross-functional processes. Essential Functions - Support facilities in developing, implementing, and standardizing sanitation policies, procedures, and SSOPs. - Review and validate facility Master Sanitation Schedules and related documentation. - Develop sanitation KPIs with plants; track, analyze, and report results monthly to drive compliance and continuous improvement. - Lead routine sanitation audits, identify contamination risks, and partner with sites on corrective action plans. - Review, develop, and validate sanitation procedures for new equipment/lines prior to commissioning. - Maintain accurate chemical inventories and usage guidance; ensure SDS are current. - Lead hygienic zoning programs (zoning, material flow, and equipment layout) and drive site adoption and improvements. - Assess sanitation operations across assigned plants and recommend process and performance improvements. - Own corporate sanitation standards (SSOP governance), including updates, training support, and compliance expectations. - Support microbiological investigations and lead continuous improvement in sanitary design and systems. - Manage sanitation chemical and pest control vendor programs, including metrics and accountability to meet service agreements. - Ensure sanitation programs meet regulatory, third-party audit, and customer requirements (e.g., FSMA, GFSI, HACCP, GMPs, environmental monitoring). - Evaluate and recommend sanitation equipment, tools, techniques, and chemical systems. - Partner with Operations and Quality/Food Safety to align sanitation processes with production goals while reducing microbial and allergen risks (including CIP/COP optimization). - Stay current on best practices, cleaning technologies, and regulatory changes; guide facilities in adopting effective innovations. - Uphold Glanbia non-negotiables and values; support Quality Business Unit Directors in driving to zero losses using GPS processes. - Use Quality systems/software as needed (e.g., SAP, PDM, LIMS, Ariba, SharePoint, Intelex). - Collaborate with global associates to support Global Food Safety compliance strategy and vision. Additional Functions - Attend Quality, Operations, Technical Service, and other meetings as needed. - Follow safety policies and procedures; report unsafe conditions to a supervisor and/or HR. - Manage travel policy and budget requirements for the Quality Programs team. - Contribute to team efforts to achieve department and company goals. - Provide leadership through example and knowledge sharing. - Perform other duties as assigned or needed. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a science/technology field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). - 5 years of relevant food manufacturing experience. - Knowledge of sanitation processes in food manufacturing. - Knowledge of sanitation chemicals and effective application. - Understanding of environmental monitoring programs and their relationship to sanitation. - Knowledge/training in food safety systems (e.g., SQF, GMP, PCQI, FSVP). - Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present effectively to frontline teams and leadership. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based instructions. - Proficient with common business and Quality systems (e.g., email, SharePoint, LIMS, spreadsheets, and databases). - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Comfortable working with basic mathematical concepts. - Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate effectively. Typical Physical Activity and Environment - Regularly involves talking or listening, sitting and the use of hands and fingers. - Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms. - Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. - Occasionally involves standing and walking. The Manager of IT Internal Audit (Risk & Ops) will support Figma's IT SOX compliance program and, in partnership with the Head of Internal Audit, develop the IT risk management and risk-based operational audit workstreams. The right candidate brings compliance rigor and the intellectual curiosity to work in greenfield territory, where the playbook does not yet exist. This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
