App Dev & Support Engineer III, Data Architect, Data Governance Lead

• Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for the Medicaid EDW. • Define architecture standards for ODS, integration, dimensional, and reporting layers. • Lead source system onboarding into the EDW, including claims, eligibility, provider, encounters, finance, and other Medicaid domains. • Review new initiatives for data impacts, scalability, integration patterns, and downstream reporting implications. • Recommend improvements to warehouse performance, data structures, and overall platform architecture. • Administer and enhance the enterprise Dataedo platform. • Maintain data dictionaries, table/column definitions, business glossary, lineage, and stewardship assignments. • Build and govern source-to-target mapping documentation. • Ensure metadata standards are followed across projects and support teams. • Publish user-friendly documentation portals for business and technical users. • Establish governance processes for definitions, ownership, approvals, and change management. • Maintain end-to-end lineage from source systems through ETL pipelines to reporting assets. • Support impact analysis for schema changes, source changes, and reporting requests. • Partner with data owners and SMEs to standardize KPI and metric definitions. • Support reporting and traceability requirements for Medicaid operations and regulatory reporting. • Help ensure data assets meet privacy, security, and compliance requirements including HIPAA. • Assist with audit requests requiring data lineage, documentation, and control evidence. • Partner with ETL developers, BI teams, analysts, QA teams, DBAs, and business stakeholders. • Mentor technical staff on modeling standards, documentation expectations, and governance practices. • Participate in roadmap planning, release planning, and architecture reviews.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in data warehousing / enterprise data management.
- 5+ years in a Data Architect, Senior Data Modeler, or similar leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with metadata management tools, preferably Dataedo.
- Strong experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience designing enterprise data models, dimensional models, and integration layers.
- Experience documenting lineage and source-to-target mappings.
- Experience working in regulated environments requiring strong controls and documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

About the Role We are looking for a Data Modeler to join a global data modeling team responsible for transforming business requirements into conceptual and logical data models. This role requires understanding of healthcare data domains (Claims, Membership, Enrollment, Provider, Billing, Interoperability - FHIR, HL7, ADT, CCDA, etc.) and experience in enterprise data modeling best practices. They will also collaborate with business analysts, product analysts, client implementation teams, and data governance teams to ensure models support operational and analytical use cases, high performance, and data integrity. This is an exciting opportunity for a data modeler with experience in Databricks, Snowflake, schema evolution, and modern data engineering practices to shape the future of healthcare data platforms. Your day to day Identify and define requirements for canonical data models as well as consumption use cases required by enterprise healthcare customers.
