Role Description The Virtual Teacher will be responsible for facilitating learning and maintaining academic progress, discipline, and records for students. Works with parents and students to provide and implement classroom education in a virtual setting to meet the needs of students. Teaching in a virtual setting requires a strong educational background and a firm understanding of how best practices from a regular classroom can be applied to this model. Virtual Teachers must be comfortable using technology and supporting new users of technology. - Supports parents and students with basic computer set-up, navigation, virtual curriculum software and troubleshooting - Instruct through lectures, discussions and demonstrations in one or more subjects such as English, mathematics, or social studies - Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects, and communicate those objectives to students - Collaborate and communicate with staff to meet the educational needs of students - Create, administer, and grade tests to evaluate student progress - Establish and enforce rules and procedures which help to maintain order in the virtual classroom - Observe, evaluate, and prepare reports on the progress of students. Role Description We are looking for a dedicated College Counselor who is passionate about supporting new and returning upper school (Grades 9 - 12) students' academic, college-career, and social-emotional development through collaborative partnership with students, parents, and LSS faculty and staff.
