We are seeking an experienced Senior BI Developer to work with our team of UK developers remotely, as part of a small Malaysian-based software development team, managed by the UK Software Development Manager and focuses on expanding our analytics capabilities. You will lead the transition from our legacy Elastic/Kibana environment to a modern Looker and BigQuery stack, transforming raw data into intuitive, customer-facing insights. This is how You Make a Difference: - Dashboard & Report Development: Create new reports and enhance existing ones, moving beyond "like-for-like" replication to build more intuitive, visual dashboards. - LookML Engineering: Maintain and optimize LookML models to ensure a robust and scalable data foundation. - Data Strategy: Identify gaps in current datasets and specify requirements for additional data loading into BigQuery. - UX & Presentation: Focus heavily on the "last mile" of data, ensuring tables, bar charts, and column charts are presented with high clarity and effective filtering. - Consultancy: Provide expert advice on improving the overall analytics offering for our end customers. Qualifications - Minimum 2+ years commercial software development experience. - Demonstrable experience with Looker & BigQuery in production environments. - Expert-level proficiency in Looker, including LookML development and dashboard design. - Strong experience with BigQuery SQL and data warehousing principles. - A proven track record of designing intuitive, user-friendly reports that translate complex data into actionable insights. - Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
