Role Description Are you a payroll professional looking for meaningful, flexible work? PAI, one of the Twin Cities' premier providers of day and employment-related services for adults with developmental disabilities, is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in White Bear Lake. This is a part-time position (10–20 hours per bi-weekly pay period) with competitive pay ($25.00-$33.00/hour), remote work options, and a work environment where everyone is valued and respected. You will work closely with our Accountant, who provides oversight and serves as your backup - so you'll have solid support and a true team around you. Specifically, you will: - Manage and process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time using UKG payroll software. - Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity. - Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner. - With support from UKG and PAI Leadership ensure compliance with federal and state payroll tax laws and regulations. - Manage the preparation and filing of payroll tax deposits and reports through UKG Payroll Services. - Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution. - Complete quarter and year end payroll processes. - Coordinate with HR and Operations on new hires, terminations, pay changes, and benefit deductions. - Support internal and external audits related to payroll. - Partner with the Accounting team on payroll-related reconciliations and reporting. Qualifications - At least two years of hands-on payroll processing experience. - Solid understanding of payroll tax regulations, labor law, and compliance requirements. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. - Effective communication and independent problem-solving skills. - Experience working independently with a vendor to resolve processing and system issues. - Ability to work independently and manage time well in a part-time capacity. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. - Proficiency with UKG (formerly Kronos/UltiPro) or similar payroll platforms preferred.
