• Develop and implement and monitor adherence with data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security. • Partner with key stakeholders, including the business unit leaders, Product, Data & Technology teams, to develop and implement data governance capabilities and apply data standard processes by eliciting metadata, certifying data, and researching internal systems of record and publicly available data sources and assessing their quality of data. • Partners with Business and Technical Data Stewards to identify, define and maintain data definitions and corresponding metadata across business functions and data domains. • Review and document translation or transformation requirements for sourced data into the data warehouse. • Improve quality of sourced data by conducing data profiling, data quality rule creation, monitoring, root-cause analysis and remediation of data issues. • Maintain the Data catalog with data lineage information (field definition, domain, source system, intermediary and destination system(s), translations, transformation rules, display screens, referenced reports, etc.), Data Stewards and Data Custodian info along with versioning for historic analysis and audit trail. • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality insights to key stakeholders by completing report certifications and validating dashboards and reports in a timely manner. • Identify internal process improvements for automating manual data governance processes, optimizing metadata collection, re-designing data catalog infrastructure for greater scalability, etc. • Help identify Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data in primary data sources as well as in data architecture, define masking and other data processing rules for special handling of PII data. • Improve the quality of data used for analysis by assessing the accuracy of new data sources and the effectiveness of new data gathering techniques. • Design and develop custom workflows using Groovy scripting to automate data governance processes. • Design and configure metadata models that reflect the organization’s data assets and metadata asset model. • Experience using or helping to implement MDM tools. • Develop training materials, use case documentation, and implementation specifications. • Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and document technical processes to monitor and analyze data governance and data cataloging performance and data accuracy. • Contribute to the team of data professionals by using expertise to answer questions and sharing templates, reusable artifacts with less experienced teammates, enhancing skillsets and competencies of team members, and sharing business domain knowledge throughout the team. • Participate in stakeholder reviews and design sessions. • Leads and/or supports facilitation of working groups, workshops, sessions and training to increase Data Governance Awareness and Data Literacy. • Provide data, reports, and information to management as needed. • Identify, track, and monitor trends and avoidable technology-related errors; work across functions to develop complex solutions, improvements, and stop-gaps. • Focus on the continual improvement of policies, procedures, and processes falling under scope of authority. • Use expertise to resolve high level issues that cannot be solved by teammates. • Stay abreast of latest technology trends and participate in high-level decisions impacting the direction of Information Technology function. • Monitor the data catalog ingestion of data assets and triage issues related to ingestion, lineage or performance. • Drive strong communications, partnerships, and stakeholder management with senior leaders, functional managers and staff. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree directly related to the position or equivalent, required in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Masters Degree directly related to the position or equivalent, preferred in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum five years experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Must have hands-on experience working with data stewards and owners.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake and Power BI.
  • Proven experience with querying and analyzing data from SQL relational databases such as Aurora DB, IBM DB2, MemSQL, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Snowflake, and NoSQL.
  • Strong business acumen, ability to think strategically and build effective business partnerships.
  • Solid understanding of data issues that impact user experience and remediations that need to be implemented to resolve data issues, via business processes and technical capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Mortgage and Privacy Laws is preferred.
  • Proven experience with Data Governance tools e.g. Collibra to design and build operating model, importing or exporting content, customizing dashboards & widgets, views, creating automation workflows, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of data management principles, data quality, data security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Workflow development and/or business process diagramming.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex data-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey data governance concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Should be comfortable with presenting to all levels of management.
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Role Description The Sr. Claims Executive is considered an expert in managing insurance claims on an individual and portfolio level for our clients, and is utilized as a trainer, mentor with their technical expertise.
