As the Director of Solutions Architecture, you will lead RapidScale's national pre-sales technical organization across all technology domains. You'll oversee several regional Solutions Architecture teams plus domain-specialist architects, guiding strategy, coaching leaders, and ensuring alignment between Sales, Product, and Delivery. In this role, you will: - Lead and mentor a team of Solutions Architects, including regional managers and specialist roles across - Define and execute the overall Solutions Architecture strategy aligned to RapidScale's sales and product goals - Partner with Product and Delivery leadership to ensure offerings are designed for scalability, cost efficiency, and customer success - Support the field sellers through executive-level customer engagement, solution validation, and thought leadership presentations - Collaborate with Sales leadership to drive pipeline growth, accelerate deal velocity, and improve conversion rates - Represent RapidScale at conferences, partner events, and industry panels to evangelize our cloud, AI, and data capabilities - Standardize architecture methodologies, frameworks, and documentation to ensure consistency and quality across engagements - Provide feedback to product management and engineering based on customer and field insights What Technical Attributes We're Looking For in You - Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear, outcome-based business value - What Proven expertise in public and private cloud architecture across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-prem VMware - Strong understanding of traditional IT architectures and how they combine with modern approaches in a hybrid- and multi-cloud approach - Experience leading pre-sales or customer-facing technical teams in a managed services or consulting environment - Knowledge of cloud-native services, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Bicep, etc.) - Familiarity with security, compliance, and governance frameworks (PCI, HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.) - Familiarity with AI/ML, data modernization, and software architecture in the cloud General Attributes We're Looking For in You - Strong business acumen, with specific focus on TCO and ROI as it pertains to IT spend, modernization, finops, and business outcomes of IT-related projects - Strategic thinker with a passion for leading high-performing technical teams - Excellent presentation, storytelling, and executive communication skills - Comfortable engaging at all levels - from technical deep dives to C-level discussions - Collaborative leader who thrives in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment - Self-starter with strong business acumen and a focus on measurable impact Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 10 years' experience in a related field ( cloud architecture or pre-sales engineering ). The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 8 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 5 years' experience in a related field; or 14 years' experience in a related field - 5+ years' experience in a management or leadership role - Experience leading customer-facing architecture teams in a cloud services organization - Experience in a pre-sales or revenue-generating role USD 148,500.00 - 247,500.00 per year Compensation: Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $148,500.00 - $247,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program. Benefits: The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
