Role Description Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Lead Design Engineer. The Project Operations Team provides comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services throughout the entire project lifecycle. Our team specializes in handling both greenfield and brownfield turnkey electrical projects and has expertise in designing and constructing high and medium-voltage substations and developing power distribution solutions for utilities, government, data centers, industrial, and commercial facilities. This position is remote based out of one of the following locations: Littleton CO, South Milwaukee WI, Chicago, IL, Milwaukee, WI, Kansas City, KS, Columbus, OH, Portland, OR, Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ. In this position you will: - Provide design engineering services instrumental to the completion of turnkey projects. - Provide engineering guidance to teams of designers/discipline specific engineers to create complete designs including both electrical and civil packages. - Responsible for leading design deliverables to maintain project schedule, design budget, design accuracy, and submittal completeness working in concert with a broader execution team. - The LDE is charged with value added engineering to provide a quality product while driving efficiencies. - Ability to lead medium/high voltage designs for both substations and MV power distribution. - Participate in site walk downs to assist in developing proposals for new work. - Develop engineering estimates to develop scope, budget, and review technical documents. - Ability to develop and maintain schedule/budget. - Ability to work with and mentor other engineers on team. - Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings. - Ability to travel 10% of the time. Qualifications - BS in engineering from an accredited institution with minimum of 3 years electrical engineering or electrical design experience OR AS in Engineering from an accredited institution with minimum of 7 years of electrical engineering or design experience. - In lieu of degree, minimum of 10 years of electrical engineering or design experience. - Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. - No relocation is being offered for this position. Requirements - Professional Engineer qualification. - Field experience in testing/commissioning medium voltage equipment. - Working knowledge of NERC/FERC, NESC, NEC, ANSI, NETA. - Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. • Assist in mechanical system design and equipment selection • Review project specifications, drawings, and BOQs • Prepare technical submittals and documentation • Coordinate with suppliers for technical data and pricing • Support the engineering team across various mechanical projects

• Lead and mentor engineering teams, ensuring high-quality technical solutions that meet customer requirements • Oversee the mechanical design process, including bespoke mechanical handling systems, lifting equipment and accessories, from concept through to manufacture • Manage the development, review, and checking of technical documentation, including verification of design reports, detailed design drawings, technical files, calculations, and compliance documentation • Provide technical guidance and risk assessment, identifying and mitigating challenges before they impact project timelines • Collaborate with project managers, other lead engineers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution • Work with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and FEA tools • Engage with the supply chain, liaising with vendors to specify and develop mechanical components • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, such as Machinery Safety Regulations and LOLER

• The Design Engineer II will work with minimal intervention and must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of complex tasks • Applies standard engineering practices and techniques, including innovative methodology, to provide effective solutions to problems involving a wide number of variables • Able to ensure the selection and application of materials and processes are appropriate to each design element with the ability to generate and/or revise specifications when necessary • Compose compliance matrix to meet customer specification requirements • In-depth knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a specified engineering field • Proficiency utilizing NX, CATIA V5/V6, CREO or equivalent CAD engineering design software • Create & release composite details utilizing Fibersim or CATIA CPD • Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors to determine appropriate action • Ability to guide, mentor and advise other design engineering staff • Creativity and latitude is expected • Participate in a variety of process improvement projects • Able to support design reviews with timely and relevant information and understanding • Performs other duties as required
