• Support the F/A-18 & EA-18G Maintenance Readiness Team (MRT) • Participate in NAVAIR Reliability Control Board projects • Provide support to Periodic Maintenance Interval events • Observe and participate in F/18 Organizational level post-deployment Material Condition Inspections (MCI) • Collect maintenance data on corrosion prevention methods • Provide maintainers and MRT lead organizational level data entry issues/solutions • Provide reports/recommendations to reduce corrosion in-service repairs • Create/produce high level presentations, reports, publications, and point papers
• Responsible for the design of metal forming tools, including welding, EDM, and heat treat • Additional tool types will include assembly fixtures, mechanical equipment, and some robotics • Must be able to take a design from concept to drawing release • Evaluates requirements to develop tool concepts • Develops complex tool and equipment specifications • Develops concepts for complex tools and equipment and can present alternative concepts • Ability to manipulate data sets such as conceptual tool design models and deliverable designs • Will create and modify tool designs • Develops and implements alternative methods and interim solutions for damaged or unsafe tools and equipment to meet functional requirements • Participates in tool/equipment try-outs to ensure requirements have been satisfied • Evaluates and develops/revises preventative maintenance requirements for tools • Responds to requests for review and evaluates ability to produce proposed design with respect to forming, machining, and finishing by using in-house or supplier provided processes to support customer specifications • Assists in determining methodology for assembly of components and evaluates part-features required to support the proposed product • Investigates, develops, and verifies feasibility of tool concepts • Incorporates safety, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements in tool designs • Works well under general supervision • Directs work of others and acts as a lead • Performs other duties as required

• The Design Engineer II will work with minimal intervention and must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of complex tasks • Applies standard engineering practices and techniques, including innovative methodology, to provide effective solutions to problems involving a wide number of variables • Able to ensure the selection and application of materials and processes are appropriate to each design element with the ability to generate and/or revise specifications when necessary • Compose compliance matrix to meet customer specification requirements • In-depth knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a specified engineering field • Proficiency utilizing NX, CATIA V5/V6, CREO or equivalent CAD engineering design software • Create & release composite details utilizing Fibersim or CATIA CPD • Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors to determine appropriate action • Ability to guide, mentor and advise other design engineering staff • Creativity and latitude is expected • Participate in a variety of process improvement projects • Able to support design reviews with timely and relevant information and understanding • Performs other duties as required
• Working under the supervision of a project manager, engineering manager, supervisor, or lead designer • Assigned to provide design support for specifically defined portions of a larger project • Develop aircraft structural layouts and design individual components, assemblies, and installations • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a specified engineering field • Research and develop limited structural engineering layouts • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action • Perform other duties as required
• Provide stress analysis input to the Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) • Coordinate with IPT to identify all design requirements and optimize load paths • Develop and validate internal loads using classical and finite element (FEM) approaches • Provide detailed stress analysis of metal and composite structures • Analyze ability of product to withstand stress imposed by various conditions • Provide fatigue and damage tolerance analysis as required • Direct preparation of final stress analysis reports • Assist in preparation of test plans and analyze test results
• Reviews designs and provides preliminary strength/stress assessments • Analyzes engineering designs, schematics, and customer specifications to determine stress requirements for a particular product • Formulates mathematical analysis or finite element model of product • Analyze ability of product to withstand stress imposed by conditions such as temperature, loads, motion, and vibration using mathematical formulas and computer simulation • Prepare preliminary stress analysis reports and provide information to supervisor or lead • Capable of airframe structural analysis for static and fatigue stresses • Perform structural analysis on conceptual layouts as well as detail components • Consult with Design Engineer to assess design modifications of product based on results of stress analysis • Will focus primarily on existing products and processes • Ability to perform classical hand stress calculations, finite element analysis utilizing finite element software such as NASTRAN or ANSYS • Participates with other staff to contribute to project completion • Performs other duties as required

• Work with the engineering team to ensure successful integration of each design element with the product as a whole • Lead and direct the work of the team to accomplish department goals and fulfill customer needs • Development of aircraft structural layouts and design of individual components, assemblies, and installations • Design and integration of aircraft mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, environmental control systems • Review and understand customer’s Statement of Work (SOW), technical specifications, schedules and budgets • Create/compile technical documentation that supports evolving/changing designs • Communicate with customers and suppliers, translating technical information and ensuring compliance to standards • Guide, mentor and advise other design engineering staff
