Job Description

Product Owner – Legal Templates, Agreements

Ruby Labs

• Own the full product lifecycle for the agreement generation funnel — from discovery to launch to iteration. • Define and maintain the roadmap and backlog in close collaboration with the Product Lead and engineering. • Translate business goals, growth hypotheses, and user research into clear, well-scoped tickets ready for engineering. • Own funnel performance end-to-end — conversion from funnel entry to document generation to paywall to subscription. Monitor key metrics, identify drop-offs, and prioritize accordingly. • Work with the legal content team to ensure agreement templates are accurate, modular, and scalable to new document types and jurisdictions. • Work with Growth and UX to improve onboarding, funnel UX, and paywall performance — implementing experiments defined by the Growth team. • Drive expansion of the template library — prioritizing new document types by demand, market, and legal complexity. • Coordinate daily with engineers, legal content, design, and growth — you're the glue holding the squad together. • Use AI tools to accelerate your own work — research, ticket writing, content drafting, prioritization, analysis — and bring efficiency gains to the broader squad.

Job Requirements

  • 3–5 years of product experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role, ideally in D2C SaaS, LegalTech, or document/workflow tools.
  • Proven track record of owning a product funnel end-to-end — not just executing a backlog handed to you.
  • Strong analytical mindset — comfortable working with funnel data, reading Mixpanel dashboards, and interpreting metrics. A top-class data team is in place to support deeper analysis when needed.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and growth experimentation — you don't need to design experiments, but you need to confidently translate Growth's hypotheses into clear, well-scoped implementation tickets.
  • Strong written communication — able to write clear, complete tickets that engineers and content teams can act on without back-and-forth.
  • Comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving team where you wear multiple hats.
  • Familiarity with CMS-based content management (Payload or similar) — you don't need to code, but you need to understand how content is structured, versioned, and shipped.
  • Solid grasp of document workflows, form logic, or templated content systems.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, etc.) and ability to use them to boost personal and team efficiency.

Benefits

  • Remote Work Environment: Embrace the freedom to work from anywhere, anytime, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
  • Unlimited PTO: Enjoy unlimited paid time off to recharge and prioritize your well-being, without counting days.
  • Paid National Holidays: Celebrate and relax on national holidays with paid time off to unwind and recharge.
  • Company-provided MacBook: Experience seamless productivity with top-notch Apple MacBooks provided to all employees who need them.
  • Flexible Independent Contractor Agreement: Unlock the benefits of flexibility, autonomy, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Benefit from tax advantages, networking opportunities, reduced employment obligations, and the freedom to work from anywhere.
