Role Description The Senior Principal IT Infrastructure & Facilities Design Engineer at MKS Inc. is a highly senior technical leader responsible for the end-to-end architecture, design, and integration of enterprise IT infrastructure and the physical facilities that support it. This role bridges IT, data center engineering, facilities, and real estate, ensuring that infrastructure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, energy-efficient, and aligned with long-term business strategies. In this role, you will report to the Director of IT Connectivity. This posting is for a conversion opportunity for a pre-identified independent consultant currently working at MKS. You Will Make an Impact By: - Leading the design and engineering of IT Infrastructure and supporting facilities, including data centers, network rooms, labs, manufacturing sites, and critical environments. - Owning the enterprise IT Infrastructure architecture and continuously improving designs based on industry standards, emerging threats, and organizational needs. - Partnering with IT Operations, network engineering, cloud, security, facilities, real estate, and finance teams. - Developing reference architectures, design standards, and engineering guidelines for global deployment. - Identifying and mitigating technical, operational, and environmental risks. - Mentoring senior and principal-level architects and engineers across infrastructure and facilities disciplines. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. - 12+ years of progressive experience in IT Infrastructure, data center engineering, or facilities design. - To be eligible, an applicant must be a current temporary employee placed at MKS. - Power, cooling, and space planning. - High-availability and resiliency design. - Enterprise network, systems, and storage design. - Application design requirements aligned with infrastructure and facilities capabilities. Requirements - Reporting Relationships: No direct management responsibilities but as a Sr. Principal IT Infrastructure and Facilities Design Engineer, projecting a leadership presence to the rest of the team as a technology owner is required. - Financial Responsibilities: Works with management to align work to budget requirements. Role Description Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Lead Design Engineer. The Project Operations Team provides comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services throughout the entire project lifecycle. Our team specializes in handling both greenfield and brownfield turnkey electrical projects and has expertise in designing and constructing high and medium-voltage substations and developing power distribution solutions for utilities, government, data centers, industrial, and commercial facilities. This position is remote based out of one of the following locations: Littleton CO, South Milwaukee WI, Chicago, IL, Milwaukee, WI, Kansas City, KS, Columbus, OH, Portland, OR, Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ. In this position you will: - Provide design engineering services instrumental to the completion of turnkey projects. - Provide engineering guidance to teams of designers/discipline specific engineers to create complete designs including both electrical and civil packages. - Responsible for leading design deliverables to maintain project schedule, design budget, design accuracy, and submittal completeness working in concert with a broader execution team. - The LDE is charged with value added engineering to provide a quality product while driving efficiencies. - Ability to lead medium/high voltage designs for both substations and MV power distribution. - Participate in site walk downs to assist in developing proposals for new work. - Develop engineering estimates to develop scope, budget, and review technical documents. - Ability to develop and maintain schedule/budget. - Ability to work with and mentor other engineers on team. - Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings. - Ability to travel 10% of the time.
