Job Requirements

  • Solid experience in backend development with Node.js.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP), including serverless services and AWS Lambda.
  • Experience in microservices architecture and object-oriented design.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and event-driven architecture (pub/sub, Kafka).
  • Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with version control on GitHub (use of GitHub Copilot is a plus).
  • Experience with CI/CD and systems integration.
  • Knowledge of caching solutions (Redis), authentication with JWT/token, and monitoring tools (Splunk, New Relic).
  • Practice in unit, integration, security, and regression testing.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, ability to work in a team, and enthusiasm for agile culture.

Job Description As a Senior Backend Engineer on the team, you'll have a key role in developing our Payroll product and its unique features, working closely with our Product team. You are passionate about software engineering and building a product end-to-end. You will be responsible for owning the dev cycle from the technical design, through coding and testing, to deployment and monitoring. We work in a true continuous delivery environment with fully automated QA processes on a microservices architecture, deploying to production dozens of times every day. Base salary for this role ranges from $170,000 - $220,000 per year. There is a strong preference to fill this role in NYC with a hybrid schedule out of our office, but we will consider exceptional candidates who are based in the EST time zone and open to working remotely. Location Eligibility: While this can be a remote position, HiBob is currently authorized to hire in the following states: CA. CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, MN, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA. Candidates must reside in one of these states to be considered for employment.
