Pricing Analyst

• Analyze pricing performance, margin impact, and competitive positioning. • Prepare recommendations and insights to support category pricing strategy. • Support retail price change decisions through data-driven analysis and scenario evaluation. • Execute approved retail price changes accurately and on time. • Work closely with Category Pricing Leads and Category Managers on pricing initiatives • Validate pricing changes post-launch to ensure accuracy and expected impact. • Monitor market trends and competitor pricing to identify risks and opportunities • Build and maintain pricing reports and dashboards to track performance. • Surface insights related to pricing effectiveness, margin movement, and competitive shifts. • Ensure compliance with minimum advertised price (MAP) policies set forth by manufacturers
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Merchandising, Economics, Math, or a related field
- Strong quantitative analysis skills, including pricing models, elasticity analysis, and margin optimization
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling) for large-scale data analysis
- Knowledge of pricing strategies, including cost-plus and competitive pricing approaches
- Ability to evaluate market dynamics, competitive positioning, and demand drivers to inform pricing decisions
- Experience working with large datasets and translating insights into actionable business recommendations
- Understanding of financial metrics and ability to assess pricing impact on revenue, margin, and profitability
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present insights to cross-functional teams (e.g., Merchandising, Planning, Finance)

Role Description The Pricing Analyst is responsible for analyzing pricing strategies, evaluating market trends, and supporting the development of competitive pricing models. This role works closely with sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure pricing aligns with company objectives, profitability targets, and market conditions. - Analyze pricing data, market trends, and competitor pricing to support pricing decisions. - Develop and maintain pricing models, tools, and reports. - Evaluate product and service profitability and recommend pricing adjustments. - Collaborate with sales and finance teams to establish pricing strategies that maximize revenue and margins. - Support the preparation of pricing proposals, quotes, and bids. - Monitor pricing performance and provide regular reports and insights to management. - Maintain pricing databases and ensure data accuracy. - Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and margin analysis related to pricing. - Identify opportunities for pricing improvements and process efficiencies. - Ensure pricing compliance with company policies and contractual agreements.
