Job Description

Accounting Assistant

Opal Group

• Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice tracking, payments, and collections • Prepare and maintain accounting reports, including commission reports, employee reports, and financial summaries • Reconcile credit card statements, bank activity, and merchant transactions • Request, track, and organize receipts and documentation for credit card and expense transactions • Maintain accurate customer and vendor records in accounting systems • Track and monitor operating expenses and support monthly and ongoing reconciliations • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, missing payments, and account issues • Support ledger preparation, including AR, AP, collections, and reconciliations • Maintain accurate sales and revenue data within the accounting system • Assist with financial reporting and data preparation for leadership and the Controller • Support ongoing projects and accounting workflows to ensure deadlines are met • Provide professional, responsive support to internal teams and external clients • Perform general reporting, data management, and administrative tasks as needed to support the accounting function

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks is required, with the ability to manage daily accounting activities in the system with minimal supervision
  • Experience with international accounting and U.S. accounting practices is preferred
  • Advanced English skills in verbal and written communication are required
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial records, and reconciliation processes
  • High attention to detail with strong accuracy in data entry and financial reporting
  • Comfortable working with accounting software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools
  • Experience using Excel for financial tracking and reporting is preferred
  • Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
