Role Description We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst to support our Data Operations team through managing helpdesk requests, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and maintaining clear, accurate documentation. This role is ideal for an early-career analyst who enjoys problem-solving, working with stakeholders, and building a strong foundation in analytics and data operations. The ideal candidate brings a customer-service mindset, basic T-SQL skills, and experience or interest in Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric, along with a desire to learn and grow in a data-driven environment. Key Responsibilities - Data Operations Helpdesk Support: - Serve as a first point of contact for helpdesk inquiries, responding to stakeholders with professionalism, clarity, and urgency. - Troubleshoot data issues related to reports, dashboards, pipelines, and data quality. - Escalate complex issues appropriately and collaborate with senior analysts or engineers. - Root Cause Analysis (RCA): - Investigate data issues to identify root causes. - Analyze data discrepancies, reporting issues, and refresh failures. - Document findings and recommend corrective or preventive actions. - Assist in implementing process improvements to reduce future incidents. - Documentation & Knowledge Management: - Create and maintain clear documentation for data processes and known issues. - Contribute to knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Ensure documentation is current, accurate, and accessible to stakeholders. - Data & Reporting Support: - Create and modify T-SQL queries for data validation and analysis. - Assist with Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric reports, datasets, and semantic models. - Support report testing, validation, and deployment activities. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Basic T-SQL experience (e.g., SELECT statements, joins, filters, simple aggregations). - Strong customer service orientation with excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving. - Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) - Prior experience in a helpdesk, support, or operations role. - Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Salesforce). - Experience documenting processes or creating user-facing documentation. - Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes. - Exposure to Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric (academic, internship, or professional).
