Director of Finance – Asia Region

Compassion International

• Lead and oversee accounting and finance operations across multiple Asia national offices, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory, board, and global standards. • Provide strategic direction for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, capital expenditures, and financial analysis at a regional level. • Ensure timely, accurate submission and administration of regional and country budgets, integrated with strategic planning. • Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of finance operations across the region. • Evaluate which finance functions should remain local versus be consolidated into a regional operating model. • Drive process improvement, policy development, and data integrity initiatives, including business intelligence and reporting enhancements. • Lead and develop multiple country-level accounting managers and finance leaders. • Set clear goals and expectations, coach performance, build capability, and strengthen the regional finance leadership bench. • Transition the organization from detailed operational dependence to strategic, leader-led execution. • Partner closely with regional leadership, national office leaders, and global senior leadership. Use financial insight, modeling, and analysis to advise leaders and influence decisions during ambiguity, trade-offs, and competing priorities. • Anticipate regional and global economic trends that may impact financial planning and sustainability. • Uphold Compassion’s commitment to child protection, cultural behaviors, and organization's values in all responsibilities.

Job Requirements

  • Strong accounting background with senior-leadership responsibility (non-negotiable).
  • Experience leading multiple teams across countries or complex organizational structures.
  • Proven ability to operate at a strategic level, without defaulting to day-to-day operational execution.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational change, consolidation, or growth in ambiguous environments.
  • Corporate-sector finance experience with high standards for reporting accuracy and timeliness.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence to influence senior leaders.
  • Comfort navigating cultural diversity, complexity, and evolving structures.
  • Preferably Regional or multi-country leadership experience in Asia, with exposure to global or matrixed organizations.
  • Experience working with nonprofit or mission-driven organizations, a plus.
  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent).
