Role Description Our client is a Queensland-based manufacturer specialising in high-quality, compliant tiny homes. They design and build affordable, practical housing solutions using standard platform designs with customisable options for their clients. They are now seeking to hire a Draftsperson Designer to prepare accurate drafting documentation for various housing projects. The purpose of this role is to convert approved layouts and internal instructions into clear, buildable drawing sets to support production and approvals. Job/Role Responsibilities - Drafting & Documentation - Convert approved layouts, selections, and internal mark-ups into buildable drawing sets - Update and maintain floor plans, elevations, sections, and cabinetry layouts - Prepare detailed electrical layouts and window and door schedules - Manage revision drawings and ensure strict version control across all files - Ensure all documentation aligns with NCC Class 1A requirements and internal company standards - Maintain organised file structures and adhere to naming conventions and issue procedures - Internal Coordination & Compliance - Respond to internal drawing queries from production or management teams within one business day - Participate in internal clarification meetings to ensure drafting accuracy - Collaborate with the Design Manager to ensure all drawings meet quality and buildability benchmarks - Adhere to company templates and data security protocols for all project files - Monitor and meet deadlines for drawing delivery and minor revisions Qualifications - Diploma, Certificate, or Degree in Drafting, Building Design, Architecture, or a related field - Minimum 3 years of experience in residential drafting - Advanced proficiency in Revit - Strong working knowledge of the NCC and Australian building standards - High level of written English proficiency for documentation purposes - Ability to prepare production-ready documentation from existing templates - Strong attention to detail and ability to balance accuracy with buildability Requirements - Experience in modular, prefabricated, or transportable building projects (Nice-to-Have) - Intermediate proficiency in Enscape for 3D rendering (Nice-to-Have) - Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat for PDF mark-ups (Nice-to-Have) - Proficiency in Google Workspace and Google Drive (Nice-to-Have) Benefits - Permanent work-from-home set-up - Dayshift (Australian business hours) - Full-time job - HMO - Annual leave - 13th-month pay - With Government Mandated Benefits
