Senior Enterprise Architect

• Partner with clients and executive stakeholders to make strategic technology decisions that directly impact business outcomes, platform direction, and long-term solution viability. • Define current-state, transition-state, and future-state enterprise architectures across complex digital, cloud, integration, and application ecosystems. • Own the integrity of technical designs, architectural decisions, and delivery patterns across enterprise-scale solutions. • Provide architectural leadership to development teams, ensuring technical execution aligns with approved architecture, delivery standards, and client objectives. • Lead estimation activities for complex initiatives, ensuring scope, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines are clearly understood and documented. • Guide backlog definition and prioritization by translating architectural decisions into actionable epics, features, user stories, and technical work items. • Facilitate client discussions on enterprise architecture best practices, including scalability, resiliency, security, maintainability, performance, and operational readiness. • Provide deep expertise across platforms, cloud architectures, integration patterns, design patterns, and enterprise solution practices. • Mentor architects, technical leads, and senior developers to strengthen architectural thinking, technical quality, and delivery effectiveness. • Build and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders, delivery teams, and internal leadership to ensure alignment, transparency, and smooth project progression. • Identify architectural risks, technical debt, delivery gaps, and escalation needs early, and provide clear recommendations to mitigate impact. • Contribute to architecture governance, standards, reusable patterns, and delivery practices that improve consistency and quality across engagements.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Enterprise Architect, Enterprise Architect, or equivalent senior architecture leadership role.
  • Significant breadth and depth of architecture experience across enterprise-scale digital, cloud, application, integration, and data ecosystems.
  • Growth mindset with the ability to receive feedback, adapt quickly, and continuously improve architecture and delivery practices.
  • Executive-level communication skills with the ability to instill client confidence, explain complex technical concepts clearly, and influence decision-making.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide architects, technical leads, developers, and delivery teams through complex solution decisions.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills, with the ability to assess tradeoffs, identify risks, and recommend pragmatic solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear architecture documentation, technical narratives, and client-facing recommendations.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, competing priorities, and architectural dependencies.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed, outsourced, and in-house development teams.
  • Minimum of 10 years of enterprise-scale design and implementation experience in software development, with deep knowledge in at least two of the following technical disciplines: cloud computing, cloud-native architecture, application development, integration architecture, middleware, data architecture, or enterprise platforms.
  • Proven Azure or AWS expertise; proficiency in both is highly advantageous.
  • Strong familiarity with enterprise architecture patterns and principles, including Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, N-Tier Architecture, API-first design, and composable architecture.
  • Competency in enterprise architecture, middleware, integration, data flow, cloud, and system context diagramming.
  • Ability to audit, assess, and document existing architectures and ecosystems, identifying gaps, pain points, risks, technical debt, and opportunities for modernization.
  • Experience and understanding of modern API design patterns, API governance, authentication, authorization, versioning, and lifecycle management.
  • Able to define API specifications, preferably using OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Proficiency with enterprise tools and patterns such as SQL, Service Bus/Message Queue, Caching, ESB, ETL, observability, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented principles, software design principles, and architecture quality attributes such as scalability, resiliency, security, maintainability, and performance.
  • Understanding of AI tools, models, and software development workflows, including how AI can accelerate architecture, documentation, analysis, solution design, and engineering delivery.
  • Preferred background in consulting, professional services, or other client-facing technology leadership roles.
  • Preferred experience contributing to open-source projects, public repositories, architecture accelerators, reusable frameworks, or internal engineering standards.
  • Experience in a Senior Enterprise Architect role at a digital agency, consulting firm, or technology organization.
