Role Description The CAD Supervisor leads and mentors a team of CAD Technicians and Senior CAD Technicians within AVI-SPL’s centralized Computer Automated Design (CAD) organization. This role is responsible for day-to-day CAD delivery execution, ensuring work is properly scoped, routed to the optimized resource, scheduled, and completed in accordance with AVI-SPL standards. Reporting to the CAD Systems Manager, the CAD Supervisor focuses on queue health, delivery accuracy, standards compliance, and issue resolution, enabling predictable CAD delivery without escalation. This role plays a critical part in reinforcing consistent CAD practices across regions and delivery models. Responsibilities - Lead and mentor a team of CAD Technicians and Senior CAD Technicians, supporting skill development, performance, and engagement. - Serve as the primary escalation point for delivery issues within the CAD team, resolving issues prior to manager-level escalation. - Review incoming CAD requests for clarity, scope, and completeness prior to assignment. - Assign work based on skill level, capacity, complexity, and delivery expectations. - Maintain stable delivery queues with minimal firefighting and reactive rework. - Reinforce AVI-SPL CAD standards, best practices, and approved workflows across all assigned work. - Perform regular spot checks and reviews of CAD output to ensure accuracy and consistency. - Identify recurring quality or standards issues and take corrective action through coaching or process reinforcement. - Communicate delivery status, risks, and issues clearly to CAD leadership. - Participate in lessons learned and continuous improvement discussions as needed. - Support CAD leadership in refining delivery processes, tools, and workflows. - Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives. Qualifications - 4-6 years of professional CAD experience - 1-3 years of leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience - Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop CAD or technical team members. - Strong understanding of CAD workflows, standards, and quality control practices. - Strong understanding of Audio-Visual Integration best practices and industry standards for drawings - Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and schematics. - Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar drafting tools. - Ability to assess work scope, estimate effort at a high level, and assign tasks appropriately. - Clear written and verbal communication skills. - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage changing priorities. - High School Diploma or equivalent.
