Role Description The Temporary Associate Managing Editor co-manages the journal’s online peer-review process for manuscripts, which requires engaging with advanced-level research in order to recognize whether submissions fall within the journal’s academic area. Responsibilities include: - Communicating initial assessments of submissions to the editor in chief. - Maintaining strict confidentiality in support of an anonymous review process. - Providing developmental editing for all ASQ articles. - Conferring with authors to influence article content decisions. - Producing quarterly issues in partnership with Sage Publishing. - Independently managing the journal’s book review program. - Developing, implementing, and improving journal workflow processes. - Summarizing research articles for the journal’s social media content. - Coordinating events, such as online symposia and workshops. - Consulting on the development of editing tools and bibliographic citation management. - Maintaining ASQ’s Cornell web pages. - Performing administrative duties including contracting editors and generating performance reports. *This is a temporary, benefits‑eligible, six‑month full‑time position with the possibility of potentially transitioning into a permanent role. Role Description The Director Medical Writing is an expert medical writer, responsible for writing and coordinating the writing of various clinical and regulatory documents including: - Protocols/amendments - Investigator brochures - Clinical study reports - NDA/BLA submission documents The Director Medical Writing will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage the preparation of written clinical and regulatory documents, ensuring that they are of high quality and completed in a timely fashion compliant with SOPs, ICH/GCP/regulatory guidelines, and company goals. The Director will also manage and mentor more junior writers and will be seen as a key SME for medical writing providing leadership across global teams. Work Model: Remote - Officially documented as working full-time from home, with travel to Ultragenyx's offices or other locations on occasion as needed.
