Staff Software Development Engineer – Test
Alteryx
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and libraries used across multiple teams. • Partner with engineers and product teams to define test strategies for hybrid cloud-based and on-prem connected systems and services. • Provide hands-on technical guidance in test design, coding practices, and automation architecture. • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure testability and quality are integral to development. • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and champion continuous testing practices. • Mentor and coach SDETs and developers on automation design patterns, coding standards, and effective test strategies. • Explore and apply AI/ML technologies to improve test efficiency, stability, and coverage. • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to improve environment reliability and observability in testing. • Contribute to cross-team initiatives to enhance quality metrics, frameworks, and best practices.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as a Senior SDET or Senior QA Automation Engineer
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages (Python, TypeScript, Java)
- Deep experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, TestCafe, or similar
- Proven expertise in testing REST APIs, microservices, and web-based applications hosted on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience integrating AI-assisted tools into development and test workflows
- Solid understanding of CI/CD systems and DevOps workflows (Gitlab Pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical improvements across teams
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Position Description: Ardent is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test automation, particularly for Esri software solutions. This role is integral to ensuring the quality and performance of our software applications through effective automation strategies. Key Responsibilities: Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for Esri software products. Utilize tools and methodologies to ensure comprehensive test coverage and efficient execution. Test Planning: Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand requirements and define test plans, including both functional and performance criteria for Esri applications. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in test automation engineering, with a focus on federal contracting environments. Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit). Strong experience with Esri software and APIs, including ArcGIS and related technologies.
