Lead SDET – Telecom Performance, Scalability

Vonage

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks using Python and TypeScript (Playwright) • Build and execute end-to-end, API, integration, and regression test suites • Lead performance, load, stress, scalability testing, and chaos engineering across high-availability telecom platforms • Validate real-time communication systems and event-driven architectures • Test and verify cloud-native applications deployed within AWS environments • Ensure systems meet performance, resilience, scalability, and availability standards • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery • Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams within Agile ceremonies • Identify performance bottlenecks, architectural risks, and quality gaps early • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and engineering standards

Job Requirements

  • Strong experience testing telecommunications or CPaaS platforms
  • Proven hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, S3)
  • Strong automation development skills in Typescript and Python.
  • Solid experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6, Gatling)
  • Experience testing distributed systems, microservices, and high-throughput APIs
  • Strong understanding of QA principles within Agile/Scrum environments
  • Experience embedding testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work effectively within distributed/global teams
  • Excellent working knowledge of SIPp (Session Initiation Protocol), including hands-on experience generating high volumes of SIP calls for load, stress, and scalability testing.
  • Experience working with Ribbon Communications telecom infrastructure, including SBC configuration, SIP routing validation, and performance testing within carrier-grade environments.
