Job Description

Assistant General Counsel

Center for Internet Security

• Draft and negotiate complex domestic and international agreements with private and government entities across a range of cybersecurity products and services • Assist in developing and implementing contracting strategy for CIS's Sales, Procurement, and Corporate organizations, including overall contract template standardization, contract approval process, negotiation playbooks, and training • Assist in counseling business partners on marketing and communications initiatives and conduct legal compliance reviews of related materials • Assist in advising and implementing privacy policies and monitoring privacy laws and regulations • Assist in advising and implementing best practices in corporate and artificial intelligence (AI) governance across the organization • Advise business partners on applicable laws and regulations • Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders and provide legal support for other parts of the organization as the need arises • Communicate risks to business partners to close complex transactions and mitigate transaction disputes • Conduct legal research as needed • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from accredited institution
  • 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in a top tier law firm and/or technology company
  • Active member of a state bar in good standing (and eligible to register as an in-house counsel in New York)
  • Significant experience in supporting corporate and AI governance, privacy, marketing and communications, and/or government contracting
  • Strong drafting skills for a variety of commercial agreements, e.g., strategic partnership agreements, sales agreements, SaaS agreements, software licenses, services agreements, purchase orders, and membership agreements
  • Ability to handle a significant number of legal issues and negotiations simultaneously and prioritize competing demands
  • Must be a team player and a high-performing professional
  • Must have a high level of personal integrity and accountability and a demonstrated level of maturity, discretion, and judgment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
